First day at work SLY

Hey guys, just wanted to give you a recap of my first day back at work since entering the world of slydom. I work in a semi-formal business setting with about 170 employees. I went in with some of my favorite threads on, a beautiful dome, and the support of my SBG buddies on my mind. It was great, 100% of the comments were positive, even from a couple guys I barely know and had never really spoken to before. In addition, my Director and the VP seemed impressed as well, which is certainly a good thing. It was awesome how many nice comments I recieved, because I don't think I ever got a compliment on my hair in 33 years prior to today. I saved the best part for last though... I got 3 more headrubs today. 2 were friendly ones from guys I know (one with mpb horseshoe). The third was from one of the hottest girls at work who smiled and said "You look good". That pretty much made my day. Thanks again for backing me up guys. To all those still on the fence, give it a try.

That is so terrific. I think the first day back at work is the most unsettling, and can be the most satisfying.
All things considered, aren't you in a MUCH happier state now - no worries about hair maintenance, no worries about whether people can detect thinning hair, no worries (now) about what will they think when they see the newly shaved head?
I don't think there is any concern that you'll lapse on the 30-day commitment.
I'm really pleased for you. And for all future sly guys because your experience illustrates how liberating it can be, and your presence in the public further reinforces a positive stereotype of the "I'm in control, shaved head" guy.
Well done.

The first day back at work can be anxiety-inducing, although yours sounds like it went beautifully. Enjoy the change!

Thanks KG, 'twas my pleasure.
I'm just trying to repay the incredible kindness and support I encountered when I first arrived here 10 weeks ago.

Good on ya mate! I am glad to hear had such a positive experience at work, as npsbg said, it can be really daunting for at first. I think it is awesome that you have people at work that you don't talk to even come up and give you positive feedback, and especially from your bosses. The hottie giving you a head rub must have been icing on the cake though

The first day that I walked into the office with a head shaved, the questions and comments were about my bow tie.
Glad you had a positive day. Now sly for life.

Glad to hear it's a positive experience, although I expect that it is for almost everyone. But concerning the lack of prior compliments--have you ever heard anyone, man or woman, telling a guy with thinning hair, fringe, or combover, "Boy your thinning hair and fringe look great!"? Of course not. You're in control now--enjoy the sly ride!
