so as most of you know, i have had a pretty rough year and with everything going on i decided that it was not a bad idea to talk to a councilor so to help me cope with everything that has been going on. this last time he made a comment on my shaved head and asked why i was bald ans young ( i'm 22 and BBC)? so i told him the whole story and he asked me what i thought about it, i told him that i loved it. then he asked me how often do i shave it and i told him every day. he then started talking about things that i could do to be mindfull and in the moment and not be traped in a world where everything feels like it is falling apart around me. then what surprised me. he said something like well when you shave your head every day you havr to be focused 110% on what you are doing at that time and it takes you away from the thoughts that are circling around in your head. i left that meeting kinda confused but knew he was right. who knew that something like shaving my head would help me with everything i have been going through. am i the only one who feels that shaving thier head can be therapeutic?
thanks guys.
it's logical to help you, because you do what you like
Hopefully the rough times are coming to an end!
Your therapist is right. His explanation is simple and accurate.
I've noticed some threads about advantages of being sly and I don't remember seeing this one on such a list.
Nice you shared this thought with us!
Makes perfect sense to me! You sound like you found the right person to talk too
Hi there PalmeProject
I can relate to what your thereapist said. Your interest in being Sly, the way you shave and the frequaeny of shaving can add a new dimention to your life, bringing a new form of relaxation and sense of purpose from self grooming as you are sort of "taking care of yourself".
Also makes a lot of sense to me. I think shaving your head can be a great stress reliever as it is a great feeling. I hope that your difficult days are nearing an end and that brighter days are ahead for you.
