What can I use to make my dome shine? Thanks

If you want to kick off with my tip, and if your scalp is not too dry, try using an aftershave instead of the plethora of mouisturiser creams out there.  You will find that there is much trial and error...  Aftershave tends to pull my scalp nice and tight, giving it the shine I like...

Hy Kev,

I'm new to this site and to the head shaving art so my experience is limited.
But here is what works for me: since it's summer around here I use a sunscreen for. It offers protection and shine to my dome. The shine is just a bonus I suppose.

I was just reading about this the other day and I came across an article that recommended using shine sprays on the dome.  These products are typically used to make hair shiny but will work just as well on the scalp.  A little over a week ago I was at the barbershop getting my facial hair trimmed and I noticed that one of the barbers was getting his head shaved by another barber in the shop.  When the shaving was done, they sprayed a cocoa butter shine spray on the barber's scalp.  Let me tell you, it gave him a mega-watt shine.  I've been doing the same myself and have been getting an excellent shine as well.

Thanks for the info. That wouldn't have occurred to me. Though my oil skin plus sunscreen seems to radiate quite nicely as it is.

I use the glossy Headlube by Headblade. Using the head shine stuff has peaked my interest though... I might keep my eye out for some and give it a try

Would you mind sharing a picture of this cocoa butter shine spray so I know what I am looking for and if you wouldnt mind telling me if this is sold in a local store?
Thanks,

I'd like to hear more info on that, too. I use aloe, Head Lube or some SPF 30 sun protection to get shine...but only a few watts.

The name of the product is Olive Oil Moisturizing Sheen Spray...sold at Wally World in the hair spray section. A bottle cost me about $4, but it gave me a better shine than I ever could have imagined!

Pure coconut oil after your shave. Plain and simple.
Plus, it's very good for your skin. Excellent moisturizer. Only one ingredient. No synthetic crap. Just be careful not to use too much, cuz an over-oily noggin can feel gross.  :P

I've heard of some guys using olive oil as well, but personally, I don't know if I would want to smell like olives...

I do get a shine when freshly shaven but enhance it with Headlube Glossy when I want the more extreme shine. Having the shine is part of it for me and in the light it really makes the smoothness stand out.
