I have shaved my head (clippers mostly) for 10 years. I would often shave with a razor only get get bad irritation and I would find myself just going back to the clippers. A few weeks ago i shaved with a razor again. Irritation again! So I found this forum and searched and ready millions of ideas and responses to similar problems. I took some notes and tried different things and I would like to share with you what works for me.
Shower Shave
Wash scalp with generic "Neutrogena" Acne Treatment Oil-Free Acne Wash
SUPER HOT WATER
Head Slick
Fusion against the grain
Wash with hot water again
run cold water over my scalp for a minute
then ice cube over melon until melted
then apply Nivea For Men For Sensitive Skin After Shave Extra Soothing Balm
The Nivea after shave balm really does the trick. The ice cube had my shining like a champ most of the day too. Thanks for your help.
