Forgive the excitement. Here in London, we are all hopping up and down with anticipation.
No apology needed ... you are entitled to as much excitement as you can muster. A World event just down the street.
I'd be gloating quite a bit myself. Enjoy every moment.
Having experienced the 1984 Olympic Games in my backyard of Los Angeles, there is nothing quite like a hometown Olympics. I hope someday the Olympics return to Los Angeles for a third go-round. I'm proud of how successful those games were here and how it set the bar for future Olympics, not to mention being the most profitable games ever.

The TV coverage here in Australia is so awful and biased (not to mention the continual adverts) that it is a real turnoff. Will be reading a book instead.

Keep Calm and Carry On
RoWilJr, where did you learn "Keep calm and carry on" ? That's a trendy British expression at the moment.
Had a great time at the Olympic weightlifting. And Team GB got two gold medal today. London is going crazy.

Geez, what happened to the GB bicycle team.
Great gold medal win for Bradley Wiggins today in the time trial.
And Chris Froome got bronze, too.
Team GB cyclists on form now bring home the medals.

I was watching boxing yesterday. A story came out about some guy in Azerbaijan paying $9million to insure that at least 2 Azerbaijani boxers would win gold medals. One of the commentators, I think it was teddy Atlas, basically accused the Olympic committee and the judges of corruption. Apparently the Japanese team filed a formal protest after their fighter knocked down a fighter from Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani apparently spent most of the third round on the canvas and never landed a blow but was credited with winning the third round and had to be helped/carried from the ring after the fight. I didn't see the fight, gonna check YouTube, but that sounds like at least an incompetent decision.
On the lighter side I'm glad that Phelps now has the record as the most decorated Olympic athlete.
On the boxing question here's a link to some vid of the fight from NBC:
http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/boxing/highlights-japanese-boxer-robbed-by-controversial-decision.htmlI watched the vid and it shows the Azerbaijani fighter down 5 times in the third with no "8 counts".

The judges seem to be pretty biased in the boxing...............Looks like the U.S. boxers are getting hosed by some judges who have bad eyesight.

Mitt Romney might not be welcome in London again.
Just before the London 2012 Olympic started, Mr Romney came to London and said there were 'disconcerting' signs in the preperation for the games. We were not impressed by his comments.
I think we've done a good job with Olympics. Despite, Mr Romney comments beforehand.
