Nice Mr Jules, it just sounds so nice...
Waine, it's all getting pretty exciting. Like the RSA World Cup ?
From my house, should be able to hear tonight's fireworks and see the aerial fly by.
Pictures from this morning's torch event along the River Thames. We are at the Houses of Parliament, close to where I work. Spot the sly guy ?

Ah yes, green ribbons were being handed out by one of the Olympic sponsors.
Just watched the Royal Air Force fly over the Olympic stadium on the television. Then a minute later, it came over my house !!
30 minutes to the ceremony. Everybody in the UK either watching on BBC or at an open air event.

Forgive the excitement. Here in London, we are all hopping up and down with anticipation.
No apology needed ... you are entitled to as much excitement as you can muster. A World event just down the street.
I'd be gloating quite a bit myself. Enjoy every moment.

Enjoy every moment.
We did.
Saw some of it from my bedroom window.
Let the Games begin. Tomorrow, off to see the road cycling event.
Welcome World to London.

I expected to be embarrassed by a shambolic ceremony, but in fact I found it wonderfully entertaining and a little moving. Definitely one for the Anglophiles, and I'm sure several parts won't be understood by a lot of people!

Geez, what happened to the GB bicycle team.
Absolutely no idea what went wrong.
Watched the race near Buckingham Palace and GB cyclists nowhere to be seen. Big surprise.
Better luck at Wednesday's time trial.

Here in the UK, the BBC are giving us wall to wall Olympic coverage. And us Brits are lapping it up.

Catching myself looking out for the sly athletes - especially our home Team GB.

It's got a lot of the Yanks watching too. At lunch today they had women volleyball--though there was some question at the table what was the subject of the eye movement of the viewers, ball, buns or hooters--lots of action all around.

Volleyball is the one to watch. Best of all, it's right next to where I work !!!
Of course, I have to take a different route to work on my bike. But the diversions and road checks are all worth it.

Women's Beach Volleyball, I hear, is the hottest ticket. Looking forward to the Women's Soccer match with North Korea tomorrow.

Seen a few sly swimmers, for obvious reasons!
