Thanks for the Info. So is the company just one guy who designed it and got the rubber molds manufactured ? Product still looks like it could work . It shows promise
It appears it's just the one guy yeah. I could be mistaken. A few people here have tried this thing and liked it. He's competing with the HeadBlade which has been around for years. IMO he needs to do more advertising and get some backers.. perhaps sponsor some sporting events. On this page starting at 1:38 for the video called Razor Commercial he shows you close up pictures of the razor.
http://www.rayzorblade.com/how-the-faq-do-you-use-this-thing Some of these pictures don't look very pretty.. visible ugly seams where the plastic or rubber (I don't know which) is molded together. These may be older models, I don't know. I know he says as of this time last year the product was being sold (from the website) to 3 countries.
He could use a few more people in his company and a marketing team with better marketing ideas than just his youtube videos. He should also put his fancy Razyor logo on the product itself. He should give these out to bald guys at biker events, tattoo shops, barber shops and where ever else you find bald men and get their opinions on it after trying it. He needs to go on Good Morning America. I'm excited about this idea because it's something different than we have seen and I'm all for head shavers to have lots of options. It needs a chance to prove itself. It can't be any worse than the Dovo
http://www.amazon.com/Dovo-Head-Shaver/product-reviews/B00175PWD2 I can't even find the Dovo head shaver on their website. I wonder if it didn't work so well. The HeadBlade is pretty much a Dovo with wheels. The Rayzor Blade is akin to a two sided Dovo head shaver. i see no reason why it cannot be as popular as the Dovo or Headblade except for the marketing.
I agree. He wrote me back also. It's such a tough market to get into and it's pretty much impossible to do without funding for advertisements and trying to get the word out. He does say he does this as as a side job since he doesn't sell enough to make a living but I wonder how many he has sold total? And why haven't we heard from them ? You tube doesn't have one video (besides his) about it and even the dovo has videos from random people. I ordered one so I will review and try it for 30 days but I'm just surprised more people haven't tried it. 10.99 is not expensive if you already have the blades (which most people do for use with head blade)
Example. Just bought Gillette battery styler bc I got sucked into it through marketing and it sucks. The buzzer part can barely shave my arms. It's in the garbage. But bc they can advertise . They'll sell a billion of them
Had a friend once that designed a safety reflector to keep in your car in case of emergencies on the road. It was two pieces of metal hinged at the top and opened up like an "A" shape with two large reflectors on each side. You put it behind your car when changing a tire so other cars could see you better. It was tested in hurricane winds from Hurricane Katrina. He had a company make about a hundred of them to be sold about 20 dollars each - cost 3 thousand dollars because the manufacturing company had to spend money for the initial molds/machining process, equipment and software and it cost more than you run off a smaller amount than a larger amount. This product worked great but he didn't make a dime off of it. He could not get backers to help him mass manufacture and advertise. A banker or investment firm has to really believe you have a sure deal before they invest in you and then advertise like crazy to make their investment back with interest. If this fellow has such problems, the best thing he can do is create demand so the bankers will know he's a better risk. Viral videos of the product being used by big name people, movie stars and athletes who shave their heads can help.
yeah but think of how hard that would be for him, to actually get a movie star/NBA player to use his product ? Sure he can mail them out, and then Bruce Willis' assistant's assistant's Dog-walker will get it and it will probably never reach him. Like you said, you have to get a lot of proof out there that this product is good and this product will be purchased. I will do some reading tonight just to see how headblade got started, because like you said, it's insanely important to get funded by advertisers ....we're talking millions$. They had to start somewhere.
This guy is just himself, one man show, probably only selling a few a month, maybe less. When i google Rayzor Blade, nothing comes up at all, besides posts with people misspelling the word "razor" LOL.
So he's literally got nothing out there, it could because he doesn't have the time to do it, or just doesnt have the feedback from the people that did use his product.
There is actually a review on this site of the Rayzor blade, and it didn't give him glowing reviews... in the review it is said that it was hard to get used to and awkward at times, but I find that the headblade is much much more awkward .
It's very different than the HB, since this is an actual holder for the razor, which you use to shave your head, the HB guides you with the wheels, the Rayzor blade is like shaving your hand with a razor in your hand with no long stem, both of them great in their own ways ,and both of them will be loved and hated in their own ways, like everything else in this world...they are 2 very different products, but unfortunately they are one in the same when it comes to advertising or getting funds.
Looks like it will get the job done....however, I'm good w/my HB Sport. Anyone here tried it?
I received mine yesterday and I shaved twice with it. I will posting a review soon as soon as I find out what section it should be posted to but I give his 5 stars --- 5 out of 5. I love it. It actually is nothing like Anything else including the Hb/rolling razor /dovo. It's as if you were holding the cartridge in your hand. Maybe it's more similar to the very first HB without wheels. But the 2 blades for WtG and ATG are great. It's a brilliant idea. I don't have to turn anything around and there is no learning curve . It was a close shave but that can be accomplished with a lot of other variables as well (razor/shave cream/lotion/oil). But most importantly I cut my shaving time 50% from 12 min to 6 min with a lot less passes as well. I love it
