Started balding in 2005; finally said enough is enough today

I took a deep breath, told myself everything would be OK, and then just did it. Doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. One of my friends thinks I look "badass". Still haven't gone out yet; preparing myself for looks and comments (potentially negative).

I think the thing that pushed me over the edge was seeing the top of my head from a bird's-eye view over a security camera feed where I work. Even looking badly bald would have to look better than that, I thought!

Perfectly natural to be apprehensive about others' reactions. I personally think it really suits you. Go out there and make the world get used to your new look (and outlook).

Yes, there is a certain degree of 'badassness' inherent with shaving one's head. I was told nearly the exact same thing by a friend soon after I first shaved.

Nothing to fear!  Your head looks excellent.  And the beard looks nice.

have fun when you go out.  Put a smile on your face.  (I know why you are staring at me ... you wish that you had the .... to shave your head too!).
