I wanted to share this with all you football fans so you could be er.. even more sly...
What do you do when the Superbowl is over? Most of us forget about football until the next Fall. Not me. I only have to wait a month. I get American Professional Football almost year round.
I'm talking about the AFL. Arena Football League. Arena Football is professional indoor football played on a mat with only 50 yards marked off. What!? you say.. that's not football. I say, give it a shot. I thought I would hate it at first but have come to love the game. The rules are a bit different than the NFL and this helps make the game much more exciting than most NFL games. There is out of bounds but no sideline. Instead the players can crash into side boards - sometimes violently. In the AFL you can really tackle a guy and fight over the ball like you used to be able to do in the NFL. Games are fast paced and high scoring - lots of non stop action. The season lasts for 20 weeks all summer long so it's ending just in time for the NFL. Never again will I be long without football.
If you LOVE football, you owe it to yourself to catch an AFL game or two. Many metropolitan cities have teams in the AFL. The AFL is in it's 25th season this year and growing all the time. Many ex NFL players play in the AFL and many AFL players migrate to the NFL. You are sure to see some familiar faces.

Welcome, ER! I do watch the arena football and enjoy it, and may try to go to a game soon. The NFL is the only sport that seems to have a season even when there isn't one. I must admit, two of my favorite shows are the NFL Schedule release (which aired last week) and the NFL draft. As for Arena Football, there are many players who may use it as a stepping stone to the NFL (and vice versa)
football season is coming to an end this side of the pond no doubt plenty of sly US football players ?

Tim Howard is certainly a sly US footballer player who wears it well.
I agree...Arena football is a good "fix" until the NFL season starts.
Good ta know there are some Arena fans out there. It's o.k. if you root for the New Orleans Voodoo.. I won't tell. LOL. New Orleans needs something else now that the Saints are pretty much very messed up.
