Looking good man. We all went through the same situations you are describing. Good to know you fell good and liberated with yourself, people will get used to it soon.

I think the reaction that annoys me most (aside from the smartass "So what was the bet that you lost?") is the "Why did you do it? Huh, what do you mean you were going bald?" It's one thing when it's someone who's never seen me without a hat (though they had to suspect it) but it's just stupid coming from people who saw me without a hat on 5 or more days a week and yet act as if they never noticed how badly my hairline was receding.

Recently a friend of mine's friend, John (who is apx. 21-22 yrs. old), who is Norwood 4 balding and wears whats left on top combed forward, asked how I handled premature MPB and the jokes. I said it was horrible and mentioned this site was not around "back then". I recalled going to my fifth year class reunion and some of the guys (w/o asking) ran their hand over the sparse stubble top (totally shaved heads not popular then as I had it buzzed tight) and joked "damn, could you not pull those hairs out of the shower drain and glue them back on?". It was not funny and I was EXTREMELY sensitive about baldness at the time but proudly held my head up and laughed. I told John to accept the loss and either buzz it or razor it and wrote down this site. Anyways, some people (both sexes) can really be very insensitive jerks and glad this site helps stop baldness bullying !

Yesterday, had my first bad reaction to my sly look.
An (unamed) close relative said I looked awful, made me look older and looked like I had chemo. Said he wanted to wear his sunglasses to cut down on the glaring shine from my head.
I nearly crumbled and thought about growing the hair back...

Mr Jules. Why do you care what one person says? My mother said the same thing to me but that was almost the only negative comment I received. Not once did I regret my decision or think of changing it. Bottom line is if you're happy, it doesn't matter what anyone else says.
I think you have a good look. Now my comment counter acts the negative comment so it's a wash.

Thanks Acme !
I like the look. Been shaving now for nearly two months and absolutely no regrets.
It's worth recalling that when I did have some hair, I got regular comments about a receding hair line and being grey. Apparently, being grey makes you look distinguished. No, it makes you look older.
I choose to shave bald. It makes me more confident and have no thinning grey hair to worry about anymore. And I have far fewer comments about being sly than being grey.

Good point and thank you.
Had only one bad reaction from one person. Before I was bald, had plenty making comments about my hairline and grey hair.

I've seen this post and waited for someone to ask what I think is the obvious question, a relative, does he have issues with mpb? If so, I'd say it could be an indication of his internal conflicts and desires, whether or not he acknowledges it, to have the gonads to do it himself.
