Hey Guys,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 21 and just started noticing thinning atop my dome two years ago. Needless to say, it's been a bit of a hard time for me adjusting to the hand mother nature has dealt.
The past few weeks have been the most difficult so far as I'm starting to notice my thinning hurry in a rapid recession. My appetite has been lacking along with constant stops to the bathroom or any reflective surface for that matter, obsessing over questions like "is my head to small for my body?" and "will I still be attractive to women?"
I buzzed it down to a 3 about five days ago and my avatar picture was just taken today - i was just wondering if you guys could give me some feedback on what you think of the look and maybe the proportion of my head size to my body.
I know this is a pretty self-loathing introduction, which is something I'm not proud of, but low self-esteem and anxiety are things that have not just troubled me but others in my family as well.
Otherwise, I'm a pretty outgoing guy, and generally a happy one at that! I'm a musician/writer and student at William Paterson University, studying Media Production with a concentration in audio and film. I'm looking forward to posting more on this board, and just wanted to thank everywhere here for being so willing to share their stories/advice. It's already helped a ton.
Thank you!

Welcome RJV. Glad you have found us. Going sly is a choice you will have to make. We all look pretty good with our shinney heads. I can only advise that you could try going shorter over a period of time. The other alternative is to go to the bone all at once. If this be the case and you don't like it, what you have will grow back in a short time. The decision is in your corner. Good luck on your decision making.

Welcome aboard and enjoy. You should give it a try and see how you like it as that's the only way to now for sure.
If you don't like it let it grow back.

Welcome. Glad you found us. Going progressively closer with a buzz cut is a good idea. That is what many of us here did before we actually shaved the dome. Hang in there and be sure of our support whatever you choose.

Like others here I suggest buzzing it closer and closer. then can idea if you like it shaved. Then one day just do it. that is what majority here have done.

Just do it! Based on your photo, I would say you have no problems with head shape or stuff like that. Being sly, as many of these guys have already pointed out, does give you life confidence. It is really cool to be bold in your appearance!

Looks like you can support a full beard. I bald top (shaved or natural), goes well with the beard.
Your buzzed head looks good. When you are ready, buzz it shorter and shorter. Then finally get the razor out and give sly a try. All the guys here recommend the 30 day rule. When you shave bald, shave daily for 30 days to give self and others a chance to get used to it.
Welcome. You're a good candidate for the sly look. Bald musicians. Makes for good music.
