Question. Do you have to wear a hair net in the kitchen to meet the letter of the law (at least in the US, kitchen staff must wear a hair net or hat to keep their hair out of the food). Does this apply to guys who shave bald? Been wondering for some time about that.  Seems like the lawyers would want to make you wear a hat or net!

@Jason-Welcome! @Mrzed-Usually most food service places will make even the guys with shaved heads wear some form of headgear 1. for uniformity (to avoid dissent with those with hair) and 2. Even bald guys do sweat and kitchens are hot, so you don't want to risk sweat dropping on someone's food (I worked in various food service joints for much of my 20s). It's safe to say that, if nothing else, chefs will wear hats for "uniform/professional" purposes.

I can chime in in this as well. I work in pharmaceuticals and even having no hair I still must wear a hair net. The reason being is sweat and skin particles.

Welcome aboard!
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.
