Hi! I have just found this site somehow from Wikipedia. I thought I would join.
I am thinking of shaving my head say no.1 all over. I am 30 years old and have a fair amount of hair for my age but it is starting to go and getting hard to conceal. It is having the balls to go and shave off.
I do karate and shaving my head seems appealing as my hair wont be in the way.

welcome karatedragon....glad you found this site.....since you are at least thinking about shaving your head, you came to the right place. Lots of good ideas and support. Many have been where you are....trying to get the nerve to do it. Remember if you don't like it, it will grow back.
It is an almost universal feeling after you do it that it is not such a big deal, and why did you wait so long.

This is a cool site. Everyones really friendly! I would like to try it but of course it is the same old doubts
1. I have always had long locks (but now they are thinning and it is getting harder to conceal and a gust of wind shows it all up and when I get sweaty doing karate
and i guess most importantly 2 - will it suit me anyway or have i got the wrong head shape or body shape.

KarateDragon, welcome to the site, as a pretty-new member myself, let me tell you if you need morale support, or have any shaving questions, product, info, etc. This is the best site out there. There is a great bunch of SLY brothers on this site that can help you.
You should just go for it, I turned 30 last June and my outlook on things is totally different, Hair is not as important as I thought it was and the liberation of not having to worry about it coming or going(when?) is great.
You will be happy you did it, and if anyone is jealous of it to say something to you about it, then you can take care of them via your Karate skills

Ha! I even have the clippers ready. My best mate who was my karate instructor shaved off too as I bought some clippers as I was thinking about it. I did his head as a no.1 all over and then he wanted to do mine but i bottled out. his other 1/2 she liked it and my other 1/2 she has said about me doing mine too

Hey Karatedragon, alot of people have the what-if questions and fears, check out the To Be or Not to be...Bald threads and you can find some good discussions on various hold-ups. My thread and SlyinKC pose some different questions, etc. The questions seem trivial now!
