Missing Sentry and the Lazy SLY Guy

And that's me.

Of late, after a couple of bad head-slashes (and no, I'm no newbie; have shaved for a quarter of a century or more) I decided to take it easy for a while.  What does that mean?  Just do the dome once a week with no-guard clippers.  The beard is being left to its own devices, except for a little clearing at the neck and shaping on the cheeks.

My hair being white, the hairs on the not-thick side, the effect is nearly SLY.  Ah, well, the razor is there for more extensive work when the slash scar fades.

Sorry to hear about the slashes, hope it heals up soon.

What happened and/or any advice for us newer head-shavers to help us avoid it? I get a little anxious when I read about the experienced guys getting cut - makes me wonder what I might end up doing to myself.

Well, "Slash happens," as they say.

I don't think anyone here with some time behind a blade razor and dome shaving has completely avoided the blood scene.  If they have, I'm sure they will convey their prophylactic methods to you.  I'd be interested, too!

I've been shaving for7+ years and still get the odd nick.  Usually happens when I rush or lose concentration.  It usually heals up very quickly so I don't worry about it.  Part of the process and as your skin toughens up it happens less often.

I've been shaving the dome for about 8 years and still get the occasional nick....but it is rare.  On the few occasions when it has been more than a nick (usually it involves my rushing to get done because I'm running late and often is that area just above the ear!) then I either don't shave for a few days to let it heal or at least don't shave that particular area.

I've had no more nicks on the dome than on the face.  Also its a small price to pay for the great feeling of being SLY.

We must pay for the bald look and its rewards with a small blood sacrifice. O0

The Brotherhood of the Skull requires blood.
