Japan's progress since the tsunami...

The tsunami disaster took place 6 months ago. The link below will display several sequences of 3 pictures. Each sequence shows the same location at three different times: (a) During or shortly after Tsunami, (b), three months later, and (c), six months later.

Amazing!  They sure work fast. The US would just be thinking of forming a committe to appoint people to solicit ideas on how to best start the cleanup process and create a memorial.  A second committee would be appointed to determine how to best tax the people to pay for the restoration which won't ever get that money because it will be used for other things since the first committee hasn't yet come up with a plan to start the restoration.

Remarkable...there should be just as much media attention paid to these efforts, as there was to the initial disaster.

It may be on PBS someday....but it don't sell soap and if it don't sell soap, major media ain't havin' it.
