The story behind my name... lol
OK, here it goes. As you can tell by my pic, I'm your run of the mill white guy. Well, my father is from Puerto Rico, so I ended up with the Last name of Valdes.
Well, in Boot camp, my Senior Drill Instructor named me "Bob" because I was to white to have a Hispanic name.
A few months later, we were on the Rifle range when a tropical storm came on shore... I shot like crap that day... this caused one of my DI's to say that if I shot like that in war, I'll be a "Deadbob".
Well the name stuck because EVERYPLACE I was stationed, there was someone from my boot camp platoon that remembered the nick name.. After a while I just gave in and accepted it

Welcome to SBG, brother. You misspelled bald in the title.
...just giving you a hard time. I actually went through the same sh*t with my ex-wife as you did. Now I'm with someone that loves my bald head. Give it time, it will come.

Deadbob,
Welcome to the brother of the sly! By the way, when you mention Cherry Point, is that the one near Bellingham, WA? If so, then you were kind of near me as I live in Seattle and have lived in Bellingham in the past! Anyway, good to have you here.

Welcome DeadBob. A new look (SLY) can also bring a new attitude and outlook to life. More confidence. Take advantage of the situation.
