Is this the right razor/cream I should use to shave my head?

Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Razor
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gillette-Turbo-Razor-Replacement-Cartridges/dp/B0000TZA2E/ref=pd_sim_d_1

Gillette Fusion Hydra Gel
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gillette-Fusion-Hydra-Gel-Sensitive/dp/B001XURGVW/ref=sr_1_1?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1320872676&sr=1-1

So these two items is all I need to razor shave my head? I've used a razor before but a good couple of years ago so I can't remember what brand and what type it was. So yes are these correct items to use for Head shaves? I just thought it would be better to be safe than sorry.

Also this will probably sound stupid but god knows if I shaved my head right the first time, I do remember having a few cuts and it took about an hour to do it, it was a complete mess. So how much cream should I use on my head? Should I put all the cream over my entire head first then shave or do it bit by bit?

Okay thanks!

hey jdw:  the mach3 is a good razor.  however.... the fun part of head shaving is experimenting on different razors and shave cream or gel.  i say try it out and if it works 4 ya than stick with it.

also.... may i add 2 research the "head shaving section" of the forum under "your shave routine",  "what razor you use", and "shaving cream or gel".  those sections of the forum give priceless info.  let us know how it goes.  and keep us posted 2 your road 2 slyness.

I have used those items, but now have other preferences. Make sure you've used the clippers w/o the any tapering attachments and clipped as short as possible. Wash the head with hot water and soap a couple times and then rub on the gel. I would shave with the grain until you get the hang of it. Take your time and use care and you shouldn't hurt yourself. When you get  your confidence you can try shaving against the grain. After you can rinse off with cold water, dry and rub your head with witch hazel and then some aloe vera. Search around this site and you'll find many ways and opinions these men and women have about their successes shaving their headz. Best of luck.

I'm using a Gillette blue 3, and Gillette Series foam since the very beginning!
It works extremly well for me, I never tried something else, though, and I don't tend to, yet.
