I never had angst over my thinning hair (perhaps because it did not thin early). But the decision to take it down to skin came with little consideration for how it "would look." Hey! Balding is what nature does to some of us. Nothing could be more natural, more masculine.
Less is more: That's the ticket! Shave away!
Now, what you should deal with is what you have left: everything below the ears--follicle-wise, that is. If you gotta have hair above the neck--work on the facial hair; it'll never fail you. Beard, goatee, mustache. Plenty of room for exploration. -

Looks much better. I bet in a few days you will think 'why didn't I do this before' - just like many of us on the board have done.
Grow out the facial hair is my suggestion. -

As everyone else has said, the sly look is a great one for you! I am also not saying this because I am sly. But I do believe that you have a great look as a sly guy!

My instinct is right, you look great with your head shaved. May I suggest you grow your beard same as in your before pic to complete the look. Awesome.

I agree with others- you do look younger and your head looks good. But why did you shave the beard? I think it will look awesome if you grow that back the way you originally had it.
Just remember, don't act self conscious now. Act like you're in control and enjoy the attention. -

Dude, it looks awesome. I'm kinda jealous. now when you go out, go out proudly, and think of your new slyness as giving " the finger " to everyone who had a negative comment in the past. More than likely your going to get a lot of compliments, cuz it really does look good. I got a lot of compliments on mine and it doesn't look nearly as good as yours.
