Suggestions on Headslick replacement?

I've been a fan of HeadSlick shave cream for a while, but I think it's time to try something else for my head shaving routine. I just had a terrible shave with HeadSlick. It seemed as if it had coagulated, and had lumps in it. I used a brand new Fusion cartridge, and it felt like I was dragging the blades through glue instead of shaving cream. Ugh!

Is there something else out there that works great, and won't break the budget? I like the menthol in HeadSlick, but I can't stand heavily fragranced products.
Open to suggestions!

For years, I've mixed Headslick and Bald Guyz Shave Gel. I love Headslick, but found it clogged the razor easily. Blad Guyz Shave Gel speads easily, is a little thinner, and gives a good shave. To me, a 50/50 mix of these two products gives a great shave.
Hope that helps.

Hi Schro,
That's one of the things about HeadSlick that I don't like, the fact that it clogs the razor too easily, and leaves a nasty film on the razor. I'll look for the Bald Guyz products, and experiment a little. Thanks!

I use the HS w/ a brush and add some glycerine--great lather and I've not had any clogging issues with any of the tools I've used, Fusion, M5 or now, Schick Hydro 5.

I use Edge Gel Sensitive Skin (silver can) and KOS Alpha gel from time to time. I've found the that HS makes my head break out sometimes.

I have a few bottles of Headslick and really only use it when I'm travelling. Can't get used to it. I use either shave gel or foam, like the gel a little better. Nivea Sensitive Shave Gel or foam for me. The Gillette gels are also fine. Would love to try the Bald Guyz though
I use an old toothbrush to clean the blades between passes

I'm a big fan of HeadSlick. I have been since the first time I tried it. No problems to report with razor clogging on my end.

Buy yourself a mug and a decent brush....then there's a whole new world of lather out there to explore.
I'll strongly reccomend soaps from both Mama Bear and Ogallalla. Excellent shave soaps and incredibkle scents!

The only problem is there's no Walgreens in my city.
