Back a page or so, Mr. Ming said Clarabelle isn't with us any more. i think The Captain (Kangaroo} left the stage about the same time. RIP

Dallas was HUGE here, as was Dynasty. Knots Landing too, but not quite as huge. There was also a similar show called Savannah which was popular here for a while but I dont know what happened to it. It seemed to have a very short life.
Oh yeah, the primetime soaps ruled in the late 70's-late 80's with:
Dallas...which spun off Knots Landing
Dynasty...which spun off The Colbys
Falcon Crest
Flamingo Road
And less campy, but soapy nonetheless:
St. Elsewhere
Hill Street Blues
L.A. Law
And continued into the 90's with shows like:
90210 which spun off Melrose Place which spun off Models, Inc.
Dawson's Creek which spun off Young Americans
Felicity
And I remember Savannah as well!

There was a Brit Com that was on for a few years called 'Allo 'Allo. It took place in France during WW2 and was very funny.

There was a Brit Com that was on for a few years called 'Allo 'Allo. It took place in France during WW2 and was very funny.
Some old US shows that I remember: I Dream of Genie, The Munsters, Sanford and Son, Chico and the Man, and Three's Company
Allo Allo was very popular here. For me, it was funny for a while, but every episode was basically moulded around the same joke, and I thought it became quite old quite quickly!
The other show which I felt the same about, and which I think aired in America too, was 'Keeping Up Appearances'. There's only so many times you can tell the same joke, especially when it wasnt all that funny to begin with
As for Three's Company - it was only a US show because it had been Americanized
It was based on the UK's very own Man About The House, which was seriously successful here in the 70s, and spawned a few spin offs, including Robins Nest (Threes a Crowd) and George & Mildred (The Ropers)

Twos company was a terrible British comedy. Three's Company was the show based on Man About The House. That link you gave is to Twos Company (crap English comedy). Three's Company is the thing with John Ritter and the two girls I've never heard of
