wow! noodles twice a day? now that is real commitment wtg and atg do you still enjoy shaving your head that often? and does your head ever flare up or did it flare up much?
Darren
Actually Darren, I really look forward to it. I like to think of it as that little part of day that I can call
"mine"!! -

Now I didn't always enjoy it so much, until I crossed over that
"learning curve" using
methods,
techniques, and
products I was reading both here and also through
my own experimentation.
When I finally found the
"RIGHT" formula, from the
RIGHT combination of products, to give me the
end result I was searching for, I was a
pretty happy camper!!

It's really a somewhat
inexpensive method that produces
spectacular results (for me, at least).
1) My two fav razors to use: Schick Quattro Titanium and the HBlade. (Schick-$10-$11, HBlade - around $8)
2) A bottle of OLIVE OIL (the cheap kind, from the $$ stores - about $3 for an 8-10 oz bottle)
3) A bottle of moisturizing ALOE VERA (or VITAMIN E W/LANOLIN) liquid soap (around $5 - HUGE bottle from the $$ store)
4) A tube of St Ives Aprict Scrub (around $3-$5)
5) A can of Schick Hydro Gel (around $5)
6) A bottle of Witch Hazel (around $1-$2 - again from the $$ store)
My Routine for the Ideal
Shower Shave:
First, I pre-wash/pre-scrub w/the
St Ives.
Rinse. Combine a few drops of
Olive Oil, the
Aloe Vera cleanser, and a dime size dollop of the
hydra gel in the palm of my hand.
Mix together to form a nice, rich creme-gel like consistenecy. Apply to scalp (and/or face too). Using the
Quattro, first shave
WTG, then
ATG, rinising blade often.
Re-lather (need only a tiny bit more - head still very lubricated from first application.
Reshave using the HBlade, WTG then
ATG. Rinse.
OPTIONAL STEP: Cleanse w/the
Aloe Vera Cleanser again.
Rinse with very cold water and pat dry. Finish off with a few drops of
Witch Hazel to
close pores and
prevent infection.
This routine gives me an
EXTREMELY close shave, whereby my scalp stays very
slick,
sleek, and
very well moisturized (yet
non-greasy) the
entire day.
This routine somehow seems to
delay the appearance of stubble growth and that "velcro" feel when the scalp is rubbed, all day long. If head does start to feel
too slick to the touch, a
quick rinse under the bathroon faucet, or with a
HeadWipe from
HBlade will set you back on the right path again within seconds.
Scalp will once again stay moisturized and
extremely soft to the touch.
Then it's time to say
"Good Morning World!!", and go out and
seize the day!!
That's all there is to it!!
Feel free to give the routine a try, if you like!! - Cap'n Noodles -
