My Grandfather was a Squadron Leader in the RAAF - he lived in the US for a few years back in the 60's and trained the US Airforce - somewhere in California.
I will try and dig up some photos and scan them, some of them are amazing.
I'm so proud of my grandfathers achievements, sadly he passed away April 22 07.

9 and a half years in the U.S. Army, 5 spent with the 75th Ranger's alot of time spent training and serving with the U.S. Marines, and U.S. Navy Special Op's soldiers. I can also attest to the U.S. Airforce Pararescue Men, and Foreward Observers. All of these men that I had the Honor and Priveledge of meeting had alot in common, in fact I would also say that the only difference we had with each other was the uniform that we wore..........And we all wore them with Pride.

All I can say is that I never had to sleep out under the stars in the Air Force.

Another Swabbie here. US Navy 1984-88. Served on board the U.S.S. Buchanan (DDG-14 -now decommissioned and an artificial reef, after a "sinkex" (sinking exercise.)
Big kudos to anyone out there who are/were special forces in any branch. Thank you for all the things you've done that you can never tell us about.
