Are you living a lie?

This post could go on to various boards here, but I think the beginners section is good for it since I think a lot of guys on the fence will look here.
The question I posed is, "are you living a lie?"
Before I get into the question itself, let me tell you a little story about a guy I met. This guy happens to be a motivational speaker that I met at a sales meeting. He was brought in to teach us about being ourselves and how that would allow people to see our genuine side and that would ultimately increase our sales and our success.
I enjoyed his presentation and afterward I went up to talk to him and to buy his two books and CD. (I consume a lot of material like this as it helps with this site and other things that I do.) In talking to him, I mentioned SBG and he instantly started talking about his insecurities regarding his thinning hair. I didn't get a lot of time to talk to him, but one thing that he mentioned is that his book publisher even added more hair in the picture they put on his book and that he felt guilty about it. I could honestly see that this issue was eating him up on the inside, but he didn't know what to do. I left him with some parting advice to check out SBG and to follow his own advice and be himself, especially if that meant he would be more confident without hair.
We exchanged numbers, but we never did speak again after that meeting. I get his newsletter and I see him continually giving what I feel is great advice to people, but I know that deep down inside he's struggling with his hair loss and is not exactly practicing what he preaches in this area. I don't want to put him up on a pedestal, as everyone has things they deal with, even motivational speakers, but I can't help to think that he's living a bit of a lie.
So I ask this of you, "are you living a lie?"
Are you going around trying to cover up the fact that you are losing your hair by combing your hair a certain way, or using a powder or spray to cover it up? Are you wearing a wig or do you have plugs? Are you taking drugs in hopes that your hair won't leave you as fast as it wants to? If so, you are living a lie!
That lie is going to continue to eat at you until you can come forth deal with it head on. And you can do so by either living with the hair that you really have, or shaving it off. All the guys here that have finally admitted it to themselves and moved on (typically by shaving their head) feel way better! Nearly all of them post something like, "I wish I would have done that sooner!"
So what are you waiting for? Are you ready to face your lie and stop it from eating away at you?

No longer living a lie, but didn't have much of a chance either seeing how rapid my hairloss was. I do find that true though that most people can give advice, but have trouble applying it to them selves. I hope this guy finds this site and gets his strength back.

Great post Tyler. This not only applies to your hair but to other facets of life. I live in an area where there are quite a few affluent people with extremely large, georgeous homes, drive luxury cars etc. But there are those like me that live a modest life and live from payday to payday. I'm happy for the ones who have all these perks in life. What I really dislike are the ones who portray themselves as something that they are not. I don't care if you know so and so or that you have a five thousand square foot home or drive a Mercedes. My question, Who are you really? Please be yourself and loose the aires.

Exactly!
I run into so many people that will continue to talk about how they are this and that, or want to do this and that, but they never actually take the actions that their lips talk about.

I have always been turned off by hair plugs. If it's not real I'm not interested. It has to be the real thing for me. Since hair transplants are out of my price range (and not always a solution, besides I had enough surgeries performed on me in my lifetime anyway), and I do not have the money to waste on minoxidil aka rogaine. Minoxidil has limited success anyway. I just had it all clippered off back in April 2010, and shaved it ever since, and kept it shaven in the warmer months since 2006.
