Well, if I recall correctly--Google can probably provide some answers--your growth slows, but continues until you're 20-21 or so. And, at 5'9" you're within a half to an inch of the average height for American men. Reasons to be happy in that range--traveling is easier, jets are designed for the average height--and guys I know who are 6' plus often not only find it difficult to be comfortable in the seats find it next to impossible to use the bathrooms--ever try holding it for the balance of a 3 hour flight?? Most clothing stores have the greatest variety for the average height man. Cars are easier to buy--a friend who's 6'3"--has a real problem in a lot of cars particularly if they have sun roofs. Beds, anything taller than 6' can get you in an uncomfortable situation in hotels depending on their furniture standards.
So, you're okay--life will be comfortable--unless you want to be a big basketball star, American Style football star, etc. I think most people wouldn't regard you as short either.
Finishing the teenage years and entering your twenties will be interesting because you will "fill out" your frame too--just be careful not to let it get too filled out.
For me, 5'91/2". Never really was too concerned about height, I was worried about being skinny--135# sopping wet when I went to college. That solved itself, and got me into a bit of health problems as I ballooned up to 225 7 years later, but got back to the gym, and kept at keeping fit since then. Remember, carrying extra weight will make you look shorter--another reason to try to keep fit over and above the obvious health benefits.

I'm 6ft tall....your not short by any means and I bet you'll add another inch or two in the next 2-3 years, I was 5'9 when I was your age and I had another growth spurt when I was 19.

I'm only 5'8 maybe 5'9 with shoes but there's not too much I've ever worried about. I mean the very seldom situation when I'm in a group of a bunch of 6 foot plus guys then it draws a little envy. No biggie though. The worst thing might have to be dating a girl that is 5'7 or taller then when they have heels on they have an inch or so on me.

Used to be 5'7" and 3/4" but am closer to 5'7" now and can't round up dangit. Two of my best buds are 6'4" and I steal all the ladies away from them man. Well, only from Eric because George is a chubby chaser and that's just not my thing. I can't believe what George turns down but just say this to the next 5'10" hottie (however you define hottie) you come across: Hey, I think tall women are worth the climb! Then give her your best smile. I saw that on a tall chick's bumper sticker.

I guarantee you she will think about it. If nothing else she'll admire your confidence. I'm not a line-guy but do like to say that once in awhile because of the reaction it gets. I say lots of things for the reaction - not just to women or related to dating etc.
Tall women (sans heals) will definitely date shorter guys no problem man.
I think someone else mentioned the health benefits? Shorter guys live longer on average.
Tall friends are cool to have at bars/parties because they can scope out the situation for you when it's crowded.
Edit: Maybe this should be documented - whatever I tell anyone to say to women on here - do the opposite. Case in point. About 30mins ago someone I started dating a few weeks back calls and I answer the phone, "Joe's mortuary, you kill em, we fill em". A nano-second later I remember her dad is a mortician and she's a physician who works with cancer patients. Felt related to Joe Biden for a moment.

6 foot. Though i liked to think i could get away with 6.1 back when i had hair, lol.
To be honest being taller isn't all that, people will always want what they can't have.
Saying that, 5.8 is by no means small... Think my older brothers around that.

Are you OCDing about your height?

Most guys here are OCDing about their noggin.

6'2" here, but, that may make you cowl away into a corner.

Your going to honestly tell us that our height on a forum is
going to affect your loneliness. Are you a member of the
"Guys that are not short, but think they are short and that
they are not going to measure up to the national average" forum
too? - joking.
Come on. Short and Tall (which is relative) both have their pros and cons.
5'9" is not bad. You could be 4'9" like my twin 35ish nieces they
are doing great, never heard them complain. Concentrate on something
you can control. All support here though -thumps chest with fist- Peace.
