Can somebody tell me when this World Cup stuff will stop interrupting my sports highlights? Thankfully, college football and the NFL will be starting up real soon and we'll have something to discuss on a daily basis.

I agree, it can be a little boring but have you ever watched a 1-0 baseball game for over 3 hours..OMG.

I may be the odd man out, but I kind of like it. A friend of mine who really loves soccer says soccer is like church - many attend but few understand. I guess it takes all kinds. Sure are a lot of folks worldwide who like it.

I find it hard to enjoy a sport where part of the experience is trying not to get trampled to death entering the stadium......

I actually kind of "got it" when I was watching the US vs Ghana game. I always thought it was boring because it's suck a low scoring point, but with a game like that one where there was a ton of shots on goal and I was very interested in the US winning, I found it to be a fun game to watch.

i love soccer. the world cup is great in my opinion.
most americans don't enjoy it because our team isn't that great. it's funny how interest spikes at the start of every WC then dies as the US team bows out of the tourney.
to each their own though

Two years ago, I never would have said that, though. My dad played in Germany and I was forced to play as a youngster and hated it. Fast forward 30 years and I have a son who loves to play it and has played for the last three years (he's 8 now). I coached his team one season, and became a huge fan of the game- more so each season. This year, I've watched every game I could on TV and am rooting for Deutschland now that the USA is out. I'll watch today's game and can't wait for tomorrow's!

After that 4-0 thrashing the other day I think I'll go with Germany also.

I guess, 99% of the Germans are really excited about "The Mannschaft" this year (the rest doesn't care for the game).
So let's hope for some more

tomorrow!
Holland is the first finalist.

I like watching the World Cup games when I can, the problem is a lot of them are on during work hours. Sure, soccer is a low scoring game but that doesn't make it boring, not to me at least. I love that the clock never stops, it's 45 minutes of action. Although football (American) is still my favorite sport, the only thing I hate about it is the constant commercial breaks, seems like they have one after every first down.

Chris, how are they placing the commercials in a soccer game on American TV, with 45+ minutes without a break?

I think I heard my dad and all my relatives crying in Germany yesterday...

Oh well, the German team is very young and hopefully they can compete in the finals a couple of more times over the years. Gotta look on the bright side.
Noggin, I'm not Chris but can tell you that there are not many commercials during the matches. They make up for it during the halftime break, though.
