Hi guys,
I've tried the baby oil once before, and I just come out of the bathroom with the best shave I've ever had.
First I shaved with shaving-cream, but then I applied some babyoil to my head and the razor glides so smoothly and without irritation - it you get a very very close and clean result.
What experiences do you have, or what do you recommend?
Sincerely
Sometimer
Agree with u on baby oil helping with irritation and the oil itself is one of the slickest I've used. It just gunks up the razor when I've tried it

. Using it under shave gel or just after to finish might be best like your doing but any razor I've used, Gillete's, Headblade or De's have required too much cleaning whilst shaving
I think this has been discussed before, but here's my take on it.
Baby oil is pretty thick and makes you smell like a freshly changed baby's butt, which, after all the years that have passed, i don't even like to think about.
I use Neutrogena Light Sesame Body oil almost every time I shave my head.
A light coat, then shave cream on top of it, and a Headblade then a Fusion to finish off, works very well.
I have never had a clogged blade with either razor with it. I put a light coat of Neutrogena on my head when done, a nice shine and not too oily.
It costs a bit more than just Baby oil, but is much lighter and after a nice shave, the wife or significant other might just want to apply some of it on your back, front, upper, and, well, you get the idea.
If you want to stay with the baby oil, I would suggest just good ol' mineral oil. That's all baby oil is, with the fragrance. A lot cheaper and you don't smell like 'Baby's Butt"
I'd recommend Vitamin E oil too. It's cheap and lighter in consistency (for me at least).
I had a bad experience with some kind of oil awhile back when i was shaving my face, as i put it on and shaved my face and it felt really good at first...then it started getting everywhere and left pretty bad mess of sink as it was very hard to clean off and not to mention my face felt very sticky and looked glossed (not in a good way) for over a day lol.
Im not a fan of oil for any kind of shave
I think I found out about baby oil in the routines board--it's good, it comes in TSA <3 oz. sizes too, that together w/ a cake of shaving soap & a brush, makes my 1 quart plastic bag go further when flying.
Thank you guys for your input.
I'll look into the alternative oils that you wrote about. :-)
Greats
