Hoping Denver get the winter games for 2022
« on: February 19, 2010, 12:10:35 AM »
It is only a 50 mile drive from home, I live up in Loveland, it would be nice for the state of Colorado and the resort areas.

2016 was the Summer Olympics that Chicago was trying to get... and I for one was very happy when they didn't!

I hope you get them also. Keep them away from Philly.

Yeah... the increased taxes, congestion until 2016, patronage, corruption, etc that would occur more than it already does in this region would have been GREAT!  Now I really wish we did get them... [/sarcasm]

With all the global warming going 'round, Sacramento might be a good place for the 2022 Winter Olympics!!!  :*))

Yes, it would have been nice to see Chicago get  them, but Rio won the bid.
I would have liked to have the opportunity to be able to, maybe, see an event or two, live and in person.

You have to wonder how many of us have a real chance of being here in 2022, if, in fact, Colorado receives the bid.  77 YO, for me, might be a stretch.
And trying to qualify for an even is probably out of the question.
Unless I'm still here, and the add a wheelchair slow, really slow event.    LOL

Pretty close to me too but I would be concerned about the state raising taxes to cover the expense. The gov gets too much of my money as it is. I don't want to give them more so they can waste it with corruption and inefficiancy.
