At a downtown bar last night, enjoying drinks with friends, a guys walks up to our table and had a strange request. He asked if his buddy who was also SLY could borrow my ID to get in the bar. He offered me $20 and also said he would buy our whole table a round of drinks. I politely told him no because there was far too much at stake for me personally. I can't risk getting busted, or someone else getting busted with my ID. Eventually his buddy got into the bar and when I saw him my first reaction was a bit of shock. Dude had to be 20 years or so older than me, shorter and no Van Dyke...just thought it a bit strange. There were a couple other SLY guys there as well and not sure if they helped the guy out or not.
That's just one of those odd moments you never figure out.
Goes to show you....never drink downtown.
Well, maybe it's just me and my suspicious, untrusting nature when strangers and stranger requests.
But, since you ask,
I think that is a good way to lose a valid id, ie, drivers license, or similar.
Why the Hell would an 80 year old man need an ID to enter a bar....

(Think about it Piggy)
I have H A I R in all my ID pictures - -never thought about that until now

You're right Bill, I used to work the door at a bar.

That was another thought I had, not knowing this guy from a hole in the ground.
