Yeah it has been quite an ordeal, but  I've been shaving for a week now and WOW it has changed my life. The anxiety of losing my hair, checking what the weather is going to be, spending hours 'fixing' my hair to hide my balding, not being able to swim or having to dry my hair really quick after a shower so no one will see how thin it is or having to get my hair ready in the morning before anyone sees me- All GONE.

It seems weird that shaving your head bald would eliminate the worry of balding, but I think it was the anticipation of rude comments rather then the comments themselves you dread. I've taken control, I'm bald so now I'm not worrying about going bald. Since shaving my head bald I'm surprised how much going bald  really affected me and my life.

I was so depressed when I would look in the mirror and see the receding hair line and thinning, how old I looked and how unfair it was that I was only 24 and going bald. I lurked here for a about 4/5 months and envied all these bald guys who just accepted it and how they were and thought how lucky you all were because it suited you all.

There was a comment I read that if you normally buzz your hair just shave it sly and if you don't like it what have you got to lose it will grow back within a week, this gave me the confidence to give it a try.

So if there are any lurkers debating whether to try it or not. Just give it ago, if you don't like it just grow it back, but you never no it might just change your life for the better, its amazing what taking a razor to you head can do for your confidence, self esteem and for your ego  O0.

Glad you have seen the light.  It is odd how getting rid of the hair lifts such a burden.  It's like checking another thing off of your 'To Do' list; now you can move on to the next thing... living your life.
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?
