Sadly, Whalom Park is no more...

That was precisely my reason for relocating.

Only lived in Fitchburg for a little over 5 years. I'm originally from Oneonta, NY, went to college in Potsdam, NY, and then moved to Massachusetts. 4 years in Framingham, 11 in Marlborough, and then finally moved to Fitchburg.
I'm familiar with those places <G>. My hometown is Uxbridge, and I have relatives who live in Northboro. I lived in Rochester, NY for 5 years back in the 80's.

Where was Whalom Park? That sounds so familiar, but I can't place it. We spend three weeks every July in the Boston area, and we hit Nantasket Beach, as well as heading up to York Beach in ME, etc. We stay on the South Shore because it puts us in the middle of everywhere that we need to go.

Whalom Park used to be on Rt. 13 in Lunenburg, just outside of Leominster. That's gone, but at least Fitchburg now has an indoor water park just off of Rt. 2 heading towards Westminster.

That's right. That's a beautiful part of the state. I had a good friend who went to the Adventist college that was out in that direction; seem to remember that it was in Worcester County, and that was a beautiful area. New England in the Fall is usually so gorgeous.
