Welcome Jay. As someone whose wife doesn't like the look either, I feel your pain. However, stand your ground, and tell your wife that you're doing this for you! Also, I'm betting the ribbing you get will be a lot less than you think. Just a hunch.
Good luck!

I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome and great advice. The ribbing at work never happened. I got a number of nice compliments at the gym and the office so I am feeling really good about my choice. I even think my wife is warming up to the new look. Well - maybe. At the very least, she loves me anyway.
Cheers from my frozen SW FL Dome!

Looks really good on you.

The gym is a real center for Sly Bald Guys--my thought is that the clean head is essentially a part of the the package of self respect that a guy shows by keeping fit. If you do any travel by air, you're going to see a lot of sly guys there too. Never have figured out any reason for that, but it's obvious the minute you get in line for security.
Here in South Louisiana, I hear you on the cold--I hope my citrus trees aren't going to be too badly damaged by the temperatures. We'll find out in the next couple of weeks as temps return to normal.

As ususal, I late with my welcome Jay. So glad you have joined us. The wife will come around soon enough. I'm from Southeast
Texas and Brrrrrr! Though my head would get really cold, but I was pleasantly surprised. Actually, it felt really great.

Hey Jay
LOOK GREAT!
As far as the ribbing goes, I work with over 100 associates and it wasn't easy but the anxiety I built up was really a waste of aggrivation on my part.
Bottom line, there were a number of them that thought I looked younger
and there was one that thought I was taller.
So, ENJOY the LOOK...By the way, my wife who at first was skeptical, now
LOVES IT.
Good Luck

Oh man do I know how you feel. I was working as a bike messenger when I decided to shave my melon, and I went from one extreme to the other, from hair past my shoulders to the sly look. On day one I went to the "courier bar" after work & as usual I had a bandanna around my head, so after a while I took it off.
You haven't laughed until you've heard a bar full of people say "Holy SH*T!" in perfect unison.
It was so worth it.
Welcome aboard, fellow new sly guy.
