HELP!! depression/indentation on the head????
« on: January 01, 2010, 05:08:49 PM »
Hey guys, Im a 20 yr old male not undergoing balding yet, tho long story short, its in my family and seeing as i will have to deal with that later, im going to shave it bald when that time comes around.

by build i am bony, and i guess the head is too lol. at the top middle of my head towards the back i have a very hard bony area and i recently noticed as i was showering- the top right side of my head has a depression/indent. it feels like a significant depression to me.

now, i am feeling my scalp through hair thats about 2.5 or 3 inches long, so i dunno if thats making it seem weirder then it really is?? ive never even buzzed my hair. in haircuts i go short, but never even close to a buzz......

i hope it just SEEMS worse than it is. i know not all heads are perfect, but what i am feeling seems bad lol....since the other side of my head seems alright.

when i shave it i dont care how it feels, i just want it to look alright....am i just working myself up??

that depression is around the parietal ridge (the area i was referring to as the hard bony area)

Yep. What you feel is perfectly natural, mr47. Have a doozy right there on the left side myself. Ain't no big thing.  8)

We all have bumps and dents.  Most of the time it's more noticeable to the person with the bumps than to anyone else.

Welcome aboard!

My guess is that your mom can tell you the history regarding that depression... moms are like that!   :*))  The truth is, no head is perfect and even if you went "sly", I'd bet nobody would even notice.   O0

Bumps, lumps, dents, divots, and scars all add character to our individual skulls.   I agree with Sgt. - its likely that others will notice.  Shoot I'm still amazed at how people didn't even mention my going from a full head of hair to sly -- so something as small as a dent -- nothing to worry about!
