First Time Bald - page 1 -

• Well, around midnight, I jokingly mentioned to a friend that I should shave my head like him. He said I'd look good and should go for it.
  
  2 hours later, I'm bald by choice!
  
  Still feel far from smooth up top. Using a Mach 3 with a brand new blade, and Barbasol. Some areas feel "duck butt smooth" but others, feel stubbly. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm scared to go over it too much or with too much force, lest I get razor burn. Yes, I've tried switching directions. I'm sure I'll perfect the technique in time.
  
  Mostly I did this to shock my girlfriend...she decided to spend a bit longer on vacation so I wanted to do something fun myself. I kinda like it, so as long as she doesn't declare that I'm banished to the couch for the rest of my life, I'll probably keep it bald for a while.

• Looks good.  To get smoother, try a shaving gel (Edge, Aveeno) instead of Barbasol.  What kind of blade are you using?

• Nice, very nice indeed.  Could we suggest you keep it up for thirty days, you might find this "alternative" style haircut so nice you keep it longer   It saves on shampoo and haircuts and it feels so good.

  Check out the shaving tips on the forum. You might have to experiment a little to get the best results. But it is worth it. Give yourself some time.

  I used a Mach 3 blade...I bought some Sensor disposable sbut then found I had a few Mach 3's left. For my face, I've been using some random disposable lately to be cheap.
  
  I'll try a shaving gel sometime here.
  
  I'm definitely telling her that even if she hates it, it's sticking around for a while to let it grow on her...no pun intended!

• Welcome JahJah.  Glad you're here.  And yes, you do rock the look.  It really makes your eyes stand out.  forget the disposables.
  Read up on the techniques in the forum and you will loose the stubble.

  I shave against the grain to get silky smooooooth.  Some guys can do it but it causes problems for other guys.  Just an idea.
