						Reactions -- good and bad

My family have now accepted this at one month.

Unfortunately, online reactions have been instant and universally negative.

When people read things you write and then get the photo?  Wow. Instant creeper. (And there is no interaction -- chemo? jail? style? balding? nada.)  Step out of a classic XKE, maybe they can stomach it,  but otherwise, no way Jose.  At least, it's consistent; no scattered data points of hope.

I never thought of myself as so unappealing my head shot alone would generate such ice.

Probably bad timing in the winter. Guess it's growback time.

Okay, reality check, your family accepts, who's to cr_p on that.  Your so called On_Line friends, you need to hang out here more.  Looks good, & if you like it, that's all that counts, Sly Bald Brother.

Why do you care about the negative reactions of people you have never met and most likely never will?  And more importantly, why are you hanging out at sites with people like that instead of at this one where you belong?

Hey Rico! I understand the negative feedback, I get it too and I have to admit, I do look better with hair but... for me, being sly is about being comfortable in my own skin and not in pleasing others.  I do let my hair grow every once in a while for my wife who fully supports my choice to be sly... that's why I make that sacrifice for her! When you fully embrace your right and your choice, the confidence you exude will silence most of the critics.

Hey Rico, you're always going to have negative people in the world to deal with, they're called pessimists, and if you let them affect you they will bring you down. I agree with the other bro's have said, don't let negative energy influence you. It's your life, your scalp and you have the choice of how you are going to keep it. Shave it, stand tall and proud, look any naysayer's right in the eye and tell them "this is what I choose to do for myself" Stick around, we'll get you through it.

When I've had negative comments in the past, I tell them " hair is overrated, it's only when it's gone do you realise it! "
That always shuts 'em up. If I get grief off anyone asking why do you do it? I say because i want to!
They haven't got an answer for my reply.

I think you are getting plenty of good advice here. My soon to be ex-wife always discouraged me from shaving my head, well I finally did it about a week ago and I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner. I too have had mixed reactions, but I just tell people "the only one who has to be happy with it is me" Life is too short.
