I'm about 8 hours SLY now! Little rough going out of the gate, lots of redness/razor burn but easing now. Should I expect this to continue for a while?

it should clear up fairly quick. pure aloe vera well help with the irritation. or any other good moisterizer.

Take a look in  the threads on shaving, routines, etc.  You'll find some reviews and rec's on various products to tend to the scalp.  I like to wipe down w/ a cotton pad soaked in hydrogen peroxide, then rub some benzyol peroxide and hydrocortizone in to control the redness.  Then I use Nivea Extreme.  Red goes away.  And it will "toughen" up.  Don't forget to exfoliate to keep the foliciles open.
