First day back at work as a truly sly guy. Had about a week's regrowth going last week after coming back from holidays to ease into it, and usually wore a #1 before that. I know guys have said if before but I never really believed it... once you finally take that final step and go sly most people don't even notice the difference.
If you're hesitating about taking the final step, just do it.
Got maybe 1-2 comments out of 50 or so regular customers all day and none from the people I work with. The lack of comments if anything was a huge confidence boost. People just didn't seem to care... only one really old guy gave me a funny look, and I got a couple of compliments on the new look.
Then I looked at some photos from a month or so back with the #1 all over, and I basically looked bald because of how fair my hair is and how thin it had gotten. Who was I fooling?

Glad it's working out, but it wasn't a surprise to most of us--it's just what happens. And the comments, in my experience, were generally complimentary. Enjoy--keep it smooth for thirty days, you'll never go back.

Good news for you.
When we go sly or even re-sly we are convinced that everyone at work (or wherever) will notice and pay attention. I have gone back to work today after a week away having gone 're-sly' since I was there last and not a word from anybody.
I honestly think we anticipate and imagine reactions that are rarely there.

I'm not surprised most people did not notice. I've been sly since September 5 2009 and reaction to my new look has been very positive. However this Thanksgiving, I got together with my whole family at my mothers house. Everyone of my brothers and sister, their kid have known me with a High & Tight Horseshoe Flatop for over 40 years and nobody notice that I had completely shaved my head. No one mention anything about the head shave. I was shock and amazed that nobody notice it.

where I used to work no body ever seen me w hair, so when I grew it out for a bit I actually prolly got more crap for that than when I started the sly look to begin with. Course when I originally went sly I was doing Armored Car Driving. Prolly 70% of the gaurds were buzzed or sly there.

My best back to work reaction was one of the company partners.. He was out for 3 weeks vacation when I went Sly, and I was out of town for a few days after he returned. He walked past my desk, then walked backwards and was staring.. He did the "what's different?" You lost weight? Nope. Oh, the beard. Nope had it for 3 months. hmmm.. He walked off, came back 2 minutes later, "Now I know something is different!" My response, "how about the shaved head?" HOLY sh*t you shaved your head.. why? My laughing response "better get used to it."
A month later at a co-worker's daughter's graduation party, he came up behind and started rubbing my head.

Same for me -- virtually no reaction. I work with people who aren't afraid to say anything so I know it is something that they should have commented on. I agonized over the potential reaction for weeks/months. The anxiety that I had was totally unjustified. I worked myself up over something that was a non-event. My suggestion to anyone who is on the fence and agonizing over the reaction of others is to stop agonizing over it. And as I posted a few minutes ago -- I went on my first sales call sly today and the results were outstanding.
