Reference 'What shaving solutions'
As I understand it, you can use an electric wet/dry razor with soap or foam.
As for a cheap pre electric solution, nothing wrong with cheap and cheerful.

I used to have a Panasonic ES8077S with which I used to shave my head at least twice a week for about 5 years. It worked great, but finally died a few months ago. I ordered a Panasonic ES8243A from Newegg last week and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. In the past I generally shaved with a Mach 3 and, later on, the Fusion razor in between shaves with the electric shaver. The wet/dry shaver gave me an almost-as-close shave as the Mach 3 and Fusion whenever I used it in the shower, along with a good shaving cream. I found that the electric shaver didn't like gels or oils at all. I also recently bought a HeadBlade and plan to use it in conjunction with the electric shaver. I highly recommend the Panasonic wet/dry shavers.
Thanks guys. I actually ordered Panasonic ES8243A as well last week. I think I will get it in the mail in the next few days. I am looking forward to trying it. Also I ordered "Total Shaving Solution". I have heard good things about it and I think for something as important as shaving my face/head that I have to do very frequently, it is best to experiment with different options and see which ones work best. However, I did read that the panasonic also works really well with shaving foam. So I just have to see...
Guys I'm new to this forum and need your expert advice. I just started shaving my head a week or so ago and have been getting more and more "pimples" along the side and back of my head. I'm using a Panasonic ES-LA63 electric shaver in the shower. I am also using "Bump Off" gel which is applied before shaving. I usually put a squirt of the gel about the size of a quarter into my hand and rub it in. Then I shave making one pass from the front straight to the back and then I come back to the front on the same path to get it nice and smooth. I slowly move down to the left side and then the right side, covering about 2/3rds of my head. When I get to the sides I shave from the ear up to the top. What can I do to stop this? I shave my head every day to keep it nice and smooth. The electric razor does a nice job, but my head looks really nasty. I need your help
