Has anyone found the way to eliminate or even to minimize the scar from a HT on the back of the head?
Welcome to the ForumMB! Post up an intro in the Introduction section when you get a chance.
As for the scar...... you will have to live with it. I've heard rumors that daily slatherings of cocoa butter will reduce scar visibility but I don't know that it's true.
I say wear the scar with pride.... many of us have scars from various miscalculations in life..........
The only option I've heard is expensive plastic surgery and that just lessens the look of the scar, not really removes it.
I would probably be more inclined to cover it up with a tattoo, it may not change the surface and texture of the skin, but it would be distracting enough people wouldn't notice it.
Maybe you're not ready to do this now, but at some point if you adopt Sly, you could turn lemons into lemonade by taking advantage of talking about it to guys who might be as you once were--in the grips of coming to terms w/ mpb. You could save others from making the same mistake, you could save them from what is in my opinion unnecessary surgery and which surgery can also be considered to violate a part of the Hippocratic Oath taken by doctors. "Above all, do no harm."
consult your dermatologist and a plastic surgeon to get their thoughts....also contact phigg on this site.

Yes - I think I recall reading that phigg was using something called Mederma for this (or perhaps it was someone else). I was also doing some unrelated materials research for a project, and kept coming across references for using thin silicone sheets for the treatment of scars. A good doctor should be up on the latest/greatest.
