Are shaved heads more acceptable now? Was it a taboo area in past decades?
Just received a reply to one of my posts and he found it was unaceptable when he done it back in the 80's. (sorry, cant remeber your name if your reading this)
Now, i know there a some crazy hairstyles, but over the last few years ive noticed a lot more people sporting the bald look (im one of them now)
To all you bald guys, do you feel its less of a taboo thing these days?
Cheers

I have a friend who is a Amway distributor who is sly. I have also known pastors and ministry leaders who are sly. I would say pastors and Amway distributors are kind of conservative. So if they can be sly, I would say it is mainstream!

The answer is self-evident--travel by air, sly guys everyplace

enter a high rise business building

, sly guys everywhere, go to an upscale resort

, sly guys everywhere, just go anywhere.

My question, why would you even ask this question if you observed what's going on, or coming off--depending on your point of view?

The mullet seems to be moribund; the eensy, tiny pigtail has vanished; ponytails need further stamping out. Twenty years ago, sly types were thin on the ground; today they are nearly mainstream. I will admit that the more "mature" you are, the less threatening you seem, and the baby boomers are numerous and moving en masse deep into MPB territory, and so are fertile soil for cultivating the sly look. A sly fifteen-year old is a touch off-putting, I'd say, but a lot of this age group is buzzing. Maybe that's why you have to be sixteen to be on this forum and to take that final step.

I have found that people accept it more these days than say 20yrs ago, As most shaved heads back then were excons or bikers.
But most people now don`t take a second look, except i do get the odd comment that it makes me look violent but i had that when i did have hair. The women seem to like it these days, i get looked at more these days than with hair.
But i have seen all sorts with shaved heads from police to CEO`s and politicans

Very popular these days. Just take a look around. Even if you look on the tube you'll notice sly guys everywhere. I've really notices a lot of guys sporting the sly look on various news channels as well as "reality" type tv shows.

Very popular now. When I was at the Sly Bald Guys Conference two weeks ago there were six of us there, then in the bar.... besides us.... there were two or three other shaved heads , and then two guys got their heads shaved right there in the bar. So there were about a dozen shaved heads in this very small bar.......... maybe 50-60 total people in there that night.

SLY is a lot more acceptable these days, mainly because there are so many older guys 'slying up' and this makes it more respectable and not just 'skin head anarchist' types. Its great to see so many older men sporting such a cool look! Hope it continues.

Well....I can see why it's mainstream. A lot of guys, no matter how many years, have young faces and "old" hair. Sly is much younger looking.
