While this forum is great, it tends to get overloaded with lots and lots of useful information very quickly. So I'm sure what I'm getting ready to ask has already been discussed in detail at some point but I'm too lazy to go searching for it. What's the latest and great on sunscreen that you are using on your dome? I'm looking for something that won't cause irritation and won't leave my head looking like the Exxon Valdez just spilled its load on me. I'm using a Neutrogena product that seems to be pretty good but mixed with the oiliness of my skin by mid-day my head is pretty slippery. Does have a good matte effect to it.
I do not like the sunscreen from BaldGuyz. Definitely greasy feeling.
Thanks
Best I've found is Banana Boat, spf 30, but it's dry. I haven't found anything stronger that isn't greasy or doesn't sting--particularly on a freshly shaved noggin. Unless I want to wear a hat, and I don't like them mainly because I have a huge head, 7 7/8 barely gets on, I will use the spf 70 from Neutrogena, but it is shiny, really shiny and oily and it stings. I also didn't like the BaldGuys product--mine separated into a real mess in the drawer.
The Banana Boat will slightly reduce the gleam of a noggin, not to pure buff, but I never found anything that did that. Like a lot of guys, freshly shaven, I really have a lot of natural shine before anything is added anyway.
If you locate a stronger product than the spf 30, please post it up.
I use the Neutrogena 55spf with "helioplex". Goes on pretty dry with a powdery residue. Like you said after a while it gets a little greasy but a quick rub of the hands gets that to go away.
I use Banana Boat 30spf that comes in a spray bottle. It has "Dri-Lok" on the label too. It seems to do a good job for me. I have REALLY oily skin, so after a while it doesn't matter what I put on my dome it's going to shine.
One side note, this product has never caused any stinging - even after a fresh shave.
I have to agree that the BaldGuyz sunscreen has been a bit of a disappointment. It stings on a freshly shaved head and it's got a strange consistency to it.
Banana Boat Sport- SPF 50 I think...
It was recommended on this forum
I have a large tube in my med chest and a smaller size in the truck,
which I refill as needed.
Most sunscreens seem to sting the dome a bit, especially if recently shaved.
But it is short term and doesn't seem to cause any other visible irritations.

Living in Arizona, skin protection is a must.
I have been using the Banana Boat SPF50 , but find that at times it does not go on well if I already have a lotion on. It leaves big blotchy white spots and tends to flake up. So I am going to try the SPF30 HeadLube from HeadBlade as soon as I run out of the regular HeadLube. Maybe their SPF15 spray is good enough for some, but I want more protection out here in the sun and heat.
im using hawaiian tropic spf 6....i dont really sunburn and i live in vegas...works for me
