YOUR dad...
« on: June 19, 2009, 08:48:00 PM »
hello fellow chrome domes:  with father's day fast approaching... i was wondering what R some of the traits (both good & bad) that U have inherited from your father.  i'll start:  as far as "bad"... i think that i inherited my dad's "stubborness".  as far as the good... i got my father's "out-going" personality, energy, & work ethic. O0

so... how 'bout U?  what traits have U inherited from your father?  what's your story?

Like my Dad, I believe you are absolutely entitled to your own opinions ... as long as I agree with them.
Like my Dad, I believe charity begins at home ... and anyone needing a helping hand should look no further than the end of their arm.
Like my Dad, I believe hard work never hurt anyone ... and the only job beneath your dignity is unemployment.

Unlike my Dad, I believe people should not always have a tough skin ... harsh remarks can be hard to ignore.
Unlike my Dad, I believe work is not everything ... postponing til retirement means permanently postponing.

My dad taught me, primarily by example, to be honest and to treat everybody the same, with respect.

Obviously, he never had an office job full of petty politics.   ;)

The good- Good work ethics. A belief that a man should provide for his family.

The bad-Unfortunately some of his beliefs I have had to work hard on rooting out of myself such as being so critical of others, especially family and racist viewpoints.

All in all I still miss the old guy.

Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.
