Fusion Power - nut dang the cost of blades.  Best shave yet.

I don't know bro?  I've been using my HB with generic atras for the dome and face.  I just flip the blade around and do the face while I leave my product on the head to sit for a bit.  It has done okay for me.  What is it about the atras on the face you don't like?

Sorry I didn't respond yesterday. Played in a golf tournament (rainstorm, hacked my brains out....bad day) and then we had dinner guests. Drank A LOT of wine and capped the night off with a few Schrotinis..... :XX. I'm a-hurtin' this morning.

Anyway, the reason the Atra blades are not cutting it (no pun intended), is that the angle of the blade doesn't seem to work for me. I can go thru a complete shave and notice stubble, especially on my jaw line. Like I said, I love the Atras with my HB for my dome, but just not getting the shave I want on my face.

Yeah, I can see what you mean.  I tried my Mach 3 with my KoS oil this morning on the face and dome and I got a very smooth and comfortable shave.  More smooth than the atras with the HB anyway.

I've got to go with the regular Fusion. I use KoS Alpha oil under Edge ActiveCare. Great shave, no irritation, even shaving every day.

I get blades at Costco ($36 for 16 blades). Still expensive, but worth it.

Regards.

Anyone use Schick Extreme 3? Just curious.......

I just got back from the store and compared it with Mach 3 and Fusion. The Extreme 3 is much cheaper than the other two ($1.82 per blade vs. $3 to $3.50 per blade for the others). I bought one and some replacement cartridges. I would imagine that all three are comparable, given that they're all a couple of years newer than the Atra, so "ergonomic technology" has to be better.

Schick Extreme3 .... O0  O0

Extremely close & smooth shave, glides effortlessly over your face (took a day off from shaving the dome), and about 50% cheaper than the Mach3 and the Fusion. Didn't notice any missed spots on the jaw line, which was an issue with Atras and Sensors.

Even though Mrs. Schro just can't get on board with my SLY dome, she did find my face "kissably smooth" after using the Extreme3.

Schick Extreme 3 .....Two Schrotinis Way Way Up!

i cant seem to give up my sensor....however i have been using the fusion just to use up the blades...once those blades are gone i wont be using the fusion...its great for long strokes..but for the short strokes around the chin and nose it sucks, almost pulls the hiar instead of cutting them....my sensor gives me a great shave everytime and blades last me forever.

Get a double edge razor. The problem with multi blades is the 1st blade scrapes off the shaving cream leaving the skin unprotected, then the 2nd blade scrapes naked skin.
I use a DE, make a pass over my face and head reapply shaving cream and then make another pass. Bob.

I was big on the Sensor Excel, but switched to the Schick Extreme 3 disposable...gives a close shave at a low cost and seems to go on sale at our favorite department stores quite frequently.  8)

I have the same problem with the Fusion.  Good on the long strokes, but in smaller areas, I feel it pulling hair.  I have yet to find a razor that doesn't give me at least some razor burn on my neck, so I'm back to using an electric until that day comes.

P.S. I've been really looking into classic safety razors lately, like the Merkur "Hefty Classic" with a badger brush and some shaving soap.  Heard nothing but raves about it for face-shaving.

I use the Head blade handle, with the Sensor adapter & the store brand Sensor 3 blades for my head. For my face, I turn the blade around and shave that way.

One blades generally last me about a week
