I'd Like to nominate this man as SLY GUY of the year!
« on: July 05, 2007, 02:38:49 AM »
Hi all.

I think that freed reporter Alan Johnston should receive an honoury SLY GUY of the year award.

I am sure most of you know of him but if not you can read his story here:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/6270020.stm

The man has been to hell & back but withstood it all with a dignity & fortitude that is an example to us all.

On a lighter note ... I couldn't help noticing that one of the first things he did upon his release was to go back to his former, very cool, sly look!

His heed was ballid, and schon as eny glas

I noticed that too.  Couldn't agree more.

It's outstanding that Alan was released unharmed and that the people really stood behind his release.  Does represent sly exceedingly well. O0

Same here

That's awesome!  I'm glad to hear that he's been freed and felt even more free by shaving his head to get rid of the "captured" look.  I'm curious to know how he got captured.

O0 O0 O0 I am with Shyslyguy 100%. Alan Johnstom is a credit to the sly empire. Moreover, he is a Scottish Johnston--the same Dumfries/Annandale clan to which my mother (R.I.P.) belonged and yes, the first thing he did after his captivity was to shave off the horseshoe. The man's got class as well as courage. More of his spirit would put these terrorists in their place. Professor Melon
