I might be biased but I like the chrome dome on you @Semi-Sly. Although the flattop looks great as well!

Thank you

I?m gonna keep it for foreseeable future we?ll have to see what the summer brings.

I've been shaving for over a decade, and I'm looking into this as well.

@Semi-Sly , thank you. I read your comment and thought about it, and realized you were absolutely right. I'm back to a smooth bald head!

I would or would have given it consideration if my hair was still dark when I started shaving.  But my hair started turning gray and white in my 20's, so it is not likely I would have done it then.  I am still not sure I would do it today if possible, because I do like the fresh shave fell.

Head Shaving / Re: Electric shavers
« Last post by kowalski on December 29, 2025, 04:23:33 AM »
I regularly shave my head with an electric razor. I only use the Gillette Mach 3 and shaving cream when I have the time and patience. And occasionally I use a double-edged blade when I want to do the full shaving ritual (but I usually cut myself on some spots).

For the last three months, I've been using the new Philips headshaver 9000, and the results are very good. Before, I used a Philips Series 7000 designed for the face, and although the results were also good, the ergonomics made it very uncomfortable. My arm had to be in a somewhat awkward position. Now, with this new headshaver, which is specifically designed for the head, the results are even better, faster, and the ergonomics are perfect for me. It doesn't shave as closely as a razor, but the results are almost perfect.

One thing to keep in mind is that the three Philips Headshaver models (at least in Europe) are identical. The difference between the 5000, 7000, and 9000 models is the included accessories.

I continue to use the Phillips Series 7000 for my face, as I've decided that a mustache is the most practical and attractive look I can sport, and for that task, it's a perfect shaver.

Oh, I also have an Andis Profoil, but I hardly ever use it because it can't get wet and it's very noisy, although the results are excellent.

That's a big step, but I'm sure you thought it through. I didn't have to consider it because my hair is white. Over the years, I've grown to like the shaving routine. Good luck with your procedure!

@Kromedome , I've grown my hair out many times. It's definitely a pain in the ass! It takes about 8 weeks until you can get it cut in some kind of style. You really have to fight the urge to shave it. I've never went more than 3 months before giving in to the urges, and when I end up shaving, wow! It feels so good and I always think it looks awesome. Some guys get tired of the daily shaving routine, but I actually love daily shaving and the feel of a smooth head. Also, my hair is snow white, so I think I look much older with hair.
