That is something I didn't know! I've been told it attracts bears too.

On the rare occasion that I do, it's always something Stetson. Stetson Wild, Stetson Black or just the plain ole Stetson.

Sadly, I am allergic to colognes.

Is there something specifically in it or just the strong scent?

I usually just spread rose petals out in the yard, jump in my Red and Whites, and roll in them.  LOL  Everyonce in a while a dog might come along and hike its leg..but that doesnt happen to often. LOL

Sometiems I tend to wear Ripped Abs.  Man, when I put that stuff on, my stomach starts to tighten up, and I start getting these ripples.  THen the insides of my stomach start to feel tough as steel.

shdwwlk,

You asked about my source of allergies to colognes.  Don't know for sure what causes it, but most men's colognes and many women's colognes/perfumes cause my nose and eyes to itch and my eyes to water.  Had a similar problem with those perfumed inserts that used to be so common in magazines.

I was asking because I have fairly moderate asthma, but if I wear it sparingly I can enjoy my cologne. But when people practically bathe in it, or if I walk by a department store I generally get migraines. There are usually two reasons why people are allergic: synthetic scents, or if they have a high level of toxicity in their bodies eg. being exposed to formaldehyde or something similar. Just something to think about  O0

I don't know if it's allergies or what, but all colognes/perfumes make me gag. I find them all completely over-powering.

I'm another one who has quite the collection.

Currently on my shelf I have:

Givenchy - Blue Label
Givenchy - Pi
Givenchy - Pi Neo
Alfred Sung - Hei
Jean-Paul Gauthier - Le Male
Jean-Paul Gauthier - Fleur du Male
Gucci - Pour Homme II
Hugo Boss - Pure

Yeah, I know some guys may think that's a lot, but half of them were bought for me.  Most of them are soft fragrances too that aren't overpowering and are also not common.

Wow -  I didn't know they still made all of those.   The Hai Karate commercials were pretty funny, from years-gone-by ...

I stocked up when I was three.
When I'm not cruising the "active adult" communities, I'll usually wear Polo Sport.

Since I live in a fishing town and all the hot women work at the processing plants, I usually just smear on some fish slim or guts and away I go.

No really I don't use cologne just don't have a need for it.

Ok, being serious this time:

I was given a gem of advice by my sister about 10+ years ago.  She said "go buy Jean Paul Gaultier - le male cologne."  She followed up by saying "then enjoy the ride, bro."  She was right.  That stuff is like a chick magnet.  It worked like a charm.  When I bought it at the store, the guy asked me "do you have a girlfriend?"  I said no and he said, "well, you're about to have a bunch of them."

Today, I wear:

Jean Paul Gaultier - le male (my favorite)
Prada (the new one, called something like infusion d'homme)  My wife bought it for me.  It smells very nice.

Yeah, I was told the same thing about Jean-Paul Gauthier's "Le Male" about 8 years ago too...

If you like that one then you should definitely try "Fleur Du Male"

When I'm wearing that I'm almost always asked by women where ever I go what it is.

I received good advice a while back.  The lady told me that your cologne should only be obvious to those that are close enough to kiss you.  She was basically saying that the person walking by you shouldn't be able to smell your cologne.

Tyler, sounds like you might need a new cologne.   :)

Okay, joking aside.  I agree with you, for the most part.  A lady came into my office the other day and she stunk up the whole place.  She must have used half a bottle of perfume.  It was way overpowering.  She needs to take your advice.

How can you people have so many types of cologne? Well actually I can see how because when I was at the feed store they had like 20 types that all smell good. The way I got the one I got is because I had no clue what to get. I knew what I liked but didnt know what the ladies liked. So I asked a couple of the female cashiers and they basically agreed on one so I got it. Now I have been back and they still recommend the one but I am thinking about trying something new, Stetson has a new cologne out so I might get that.

Oh funny story about cologne. We were shopping last year for Christmas gifts and my mom always gets my uncle cologne and always gets the crazy neighbor lady a candle. Its always the same thing year after year. So this past year I finally suggested that she get something different because I told her if I got cologne I would think that the gift giver thought I stunk and needed it. So she gave him a candle and the neighbor lady some perfume, it was pretty funny.
Dang, reading over that doesnt make it seem as funny as it actually was, oh well.

I used to wear Kirra, but Pacsun stopped selling it. I'm looking to get some new cologne, but I have no idea where to go or what to get. I'm only going to have  like $30 at most (pathetic I  know). I've gone to a couple random stores like Rite Aid, and they seem to have some drug$ fot cheap but I don't know if its good it not.

Dolce & Gabbana, Versace Metal Jeans, Acqua di Gio (played out IMO, but still great), CK One, Polo Black and Double Black, and my current favorite, Chanel Allure Sport.  Many others.
