Title: Headblade and Products
Post by: Paul on February 19, 2007, 04:57:09 PM
Order my first Headblade and assorted products.  Out of curiousity checked out the local stores to compare prices.  The stores I checked only had the razor and headslick nothing else.  Is this standard?  Will I need to continue to order just on line or is there some stores that cater to sly guys?

Just about the only products I have been able to find, are the Head Slick, Head Lube (Matte and Glossy) Head Shade and the Classic and Sport razors. I don't think I've even seen Head Shed out here yet.

All we have here is the classic headblade and headlube glossy.  I want to find a small sample of headclear.  Don't have razor burn enough to buy it and that it doesn't work for me.  HB has those little sample which are sweet to find out how good their stuff is.

Same here... all I can find is the HB Classic and HeadSlick!  Every once in a great while, I see a bottle of HeadLube Glossy...

Wish they'd start shipping HeadShed to the stores (JB... HINT, HINT, HINT)

FYI, this past week I did a little self trial shaving the dome every other day with HeadSlick, Shaving Gel, and Shaving Cream. Head Slick was the winner, hands down. Although, I don't particularly care for it on my face but for the dome, there's no comparison.

Now that I finially was able to find some, I am all about the the headslick.  when I travel I still use oil, but the headslick is the best for the nogin, imho too.

Thanks schro, my local walgreens only had the HeadSlick and classic.  I'm going to ask if they can get the other products as well.

Actually Paul, by typing MYSPACE in the product discount code for the HeadBlade website, you get a discount that should be enough to cover shipping if you order a few of the 8 oz containers (slick, lube, etc). Plus, there's an Ebay seller that specializes in HeadBlade products. The seller's ID is slickhead59

Clear Head only comes in a 2oz container, they don't offer sample packs of it. It's because you don't need alot to do the job, a 2oz bottle will last a long time.

Begin my life long commitment to being Sly today, my first HeadBlade arrived along witht he Slick, etc.  Question, how much of each should you use?  Doesn't seem like it will take a lot but no instructions for use anywhere on containers.  Could at least say "Check with Sly Brotherhood".  Suggestions please.

With HeadSlick, I just give the bottle a decent squeeze (much like when I drink rum)... Usually for me, the pool of HeadSlick in my palm is about the size of a half dollar.

When I use HeadLube, I only use a tiny amount... about the size of a dime.

I use just a little bit.  about a little bigger then a 1/4.

I use about a dime size in my palm for the first pass and then another dime size for the second pass.  It gets it just as slick as using more and saves it.

I'm normally not a person to jump on any bandwagon, but I have to this time with yet another shameless endorsement of the HeadBlade.  My first contact with the Sly community was not because I didn't like being sly but what I thought at that time was the daily hassle.  Everyone convinced me to stick with it and now that I've just had one of the easiest shaves of my dome ever, I will never even think of having hair again.  I normally have a real tough time with the top back part of my head where the hair is particularly thick and coarse.  I always have to attack it three or four times.  Two passes, with and against the grain, and I was as slick as I ever wanted to be.  The only thing is:   HOW DO I STOP DOING WHEELIES WITH THE DAMN THING? Thanks for the great advice from everyone, glad you're out there.

Are you using one of the plastic versions of the HeadBlade?  If you like the plastic ones then you would love the S4.  In my opinion it totally blows the original plastic one away (I have never tried the Sport version).  It is bigger and has more weight to it making it easier to handle.  It is a little pricey but well worth it.  I use a Fusion for daily shaving but will get out my S4 on occasion to change the routine.

HOW DO I STOP DOING WHEELIES WITH THE DAMN THING?

I put most of the pressure on my middle finger, the one the ring is around.  And then I use the fingers next to it to balance it.  It takes a bit of practice, but it's better that you're doing wheelies than endos.

Thanks Medicineman, I will keep the S4 in mind for future upgrade.  I'm going to need to stick it out with this for a while and just enjoy that slick feel.

I use my Sport 99% of the time.  I break out the S4 for a change of pace.  On topic, I use a dime size lop of Headslick and rub it on.  Then re-wet the hand and rub some more.  Seems the wetter it is, the slicker it becomes.  Just don't add water to the point of rinsing it off the melon.

Oh yeah!  I fill the sink and let the Sport sit in the water while I soak my head with a wet hot towel, do the head shed and rinse it off.  Probably 3-5 minutes.  It lets the lube strip soften up.

i've followed all the advice with good results, but products came with absolutely no instructions.  used the clear head then the lube after rinsing.  right, yes?

my routine-  SHOWER
put on the headshed & let sit for 1 minute
rinse & put on slick & let that sit one minute- shave
rinse entire head with cold water.
once out of shower, put on clearhead all over head.
once dry, apply headlube & your done!

Thanks, hand a little trouble but finally got the video up.  It helped quite a bit.  I was putting to much pressure on the blade apparrently and getting a few cuts.  Hopefully with practice this will end, cause I really like the closeness I get with it.

Just got my New Headblade sport in the mail after wait anxiously all week.  Been using the classic for years.  Cant wait to give it a try.    will post back my thoughts after I use it.

Post Shower and Shave.  OMG....I may have been Sly Before... Now I am Extremely Fly  @c3.

Now I do have to admit I have never used Headslick,  Nor have I ever replace the tensioner on my headbalde. And I have been a very happy  8) guy.

I have to say that I am a confirmed HeadBlade Company endorser.  I love all the products that I have bought from them.  I used to use Kiss My Face Shaving lotion.  But I  have to say that HeadSlick is even better than Kiss My Face.  However, if I can't find HeadSlick, I still will opt for Kiss My Face as it is still way better than gel type shaving creams.

Recently, I posted about nicks and cuts.  But I am wondering if HeadBlade has ever thought of a products especially for nicks and cuts on the head?

First of all, welcome RoachX. I think the best person to field that question would be Tom, The Original Canadian HeadBlader. He should be on later this afternoon. I know here in my city I can find some of the stuff at Wal-Mart, Walgreens and Sally Beauty Supply.

I'm a HeadBlader now but I've been using the Atra blades from the local store.  I notice they tend to "gunk up" a little as I shave.  Sometimes I find myself having to rub my fingers over the blade or tapping the blade on the sink to knock the hair out.  I was thinking of ordering the HB double blades or even going for the triples. Even though they seem a little on the pricey side.  Anyway, is there anyone out there that can tell me if the HB blades or definitely worth my investment vs. the Atras?  Also, if I am going to invest in the HB's, are the triples definitely better than the doubles?  Thanks.

Yes you can, you can find HeadBlade products at Shoppers Drugmart and Zellers stores, currently they both only carry the HeadBlade razor "clasic" Head Slick and Head Lube "Matte", but if you email Mac at mac@headblade.com (http://mac@headblade.com) he will send you an adaptor fot the HeadBlade razor to use the gillette sensor blades, just incase you don't like the gillette atra blades, that comes with the HeadBlade razor. Also the cheaper Shoppers "life" brand blades also fit the HeadBlade.

Yo, I have to say that they could do a better job of getting you more adaptors with the original shaver...  I Just gave on of my spairs away to a fellow with the original HeadBlade that has only used it once or twice due to the fact that he broke off the adaptor one of the first times that he used it.  Man those things need to be handed out like Candy   5t*mp

Couldn't find the stuff at my local place so i did end up ordering the classic, slick and lube. Have to wait a couple of days till it arrives but thats ok, took off a slice of skin from the back of my head the other day and don't particularly feel like running a blade over that anytime soon  :P

Though disappointingly headshed (the product i most wanted to try) does not appear to be available here up north.

Can you guys recommend any easy to find products that i can use in place of headshed... at least till its available in Canada.

I find it hard to believe that you can not get HeadShed shipped to you there in Canada  ???... I would again recommend trying off the website <headblade.com>.  If that does not work for you or you have already tried it, I would recommend any facial Exfoliant that you prefere to use, because that is simply what HeadShed is, a Exfoliant for your Scalp.  Other than that, I am sorry to hear about your bad luck dude  :-\  I say email the guys over at HeadBlade and let them know your qwalms.  sorry I could not help any more.
