Title: I need a cool story
Post by: doubledown on May 09, 2009, 01:07:13 AM
Unfortunately back in 1994,  I decided to have a hair transplant( I know, I was 24, insecure, immature, and vain).  Shortly after the procedure, I realized that transplant was not the solution.  Luckily it was a small one and I have a 2.8 inch scar in the back of my head.  The transplanted hair in the front was surgically removed 6 months after the original surgery.  The small scars on both sides of my forehead look now like scars from an accident.  When someone asks me about scars in the forehead, I say I was in a bad car accident when I was young.
Now, I am thinking about going sly and I need your help on what story I should go with regarding my 2.8 inch scar on the back.  I want a cool believable story behind a scar...  BTW, that's not a real big scar, right???  Need your help!

Welcome to the Forum DoubleD!!!

Why make up a story? You can use the truth to dissuade other guys from making the same mistakes you made concerning  your hair loss.

As for the scars.... a lot of us have them..... "dome decor". No big deal really.

I'm with Mike on this one.   Go with the truth.   Once you make up a story you have to perpetuate it.    If you enjoy being sly, then spread the word that it is the only way to go.

Here's a  very simple rule for this situation and life in general...ALWAYS tell the truth. If you do you will never have to remember what you said.  It will work wonders for your self confidence where as lying about something erodes your self confidence and integrity. Not to mention if you ever get caught your integrity will from then on be in question in the other persons mind

go with the truth bro.  You are only wanting a story to impress someone.  Live life for yourself. I would go with the truth.

I agree with the other brothers in telling the truth.

BUT....   if you just can't swing that, you could say you were deep sea fishing and fell off the tuna tower while in rough seas, and hit your head on the side of the boat before falling in the water.   !@!@

But, I still recommend telling the truth ...

Truth works best, but if you want an over the top story then how about this...

Oh, and this is meant to make people laugh, not insult age or say youth are brainless...  just for fun!  O0

You have the two scars on the front and one in the back right?  Then you tell people that the scars in the front are from when you took a stray bullet in a drive by shooting.  LUCKILY the bullet went in one side and out the other (decide which calibre depending on the size of the scars).

When people ask 'How could it have gone in and out with no damage' you respond by telling them it's due to not having a brain to think for yourself then, as proof by the scar on the back from a 'hair transplant' that was due to being a slave to the media and their need for physical and aesthetic perfection.

Once you grew a brain ans were capable of individual thought you realized the follies of your ways.  You started to shave and say to hell with what others think and the influence of media and society!

This, being so over the top, will show people right away you're not serious, but that you have a sense of humour and confidence as you can laugh at yourself.

I like Jer's approach.  The truth is the best, but you may feel more comfortable by prefacing it with something absurd.  Like you saved a child from the path of a speeding car and took the fall for him.  Then say, "no, not really.  I foolishly had hair transplants when I was young."

I have two scars from when I was young, no one really ever notices except every now and again, both are around 1.25 inchs or so . they don't really bother me, in fact I kinda like them
one is from a swing-set accident, the other is from my brother blasting me with a plastic shovel while we were fake-wrestling.

Truth...or nothin' at all if you choose...

but why try to "hide" something again...going sly is one of the most empowering things anyone can do...don't get hung up on past mistakes...you could inspired someone to not go that route!

Shave your head clean bro and start your new life! O0

You are about to embark on the most honest hair-style there is. No deceptions with comb-overs, plugs, drugs, rugs and so on. Why accompany that with more deception?

Wear your sly like a badge of honor and hold your head up high. There's no need for dissembling.

You'll also find that your confidence is boosted when you no longer have anything to hide. Just be honest -- everybody respects someone who can admit when they f**ked up.
