Hello To All,
I have been shaving my head everyday for a month now and I have done a great deal of reading about headshaving and being BBC. I started balding at 17 and first shaved my head at the age of 30, 7 years ago. I liked it but grew it back and continued to sport my combover. I finally got a headblade and I will never grow it back again. I wasn't sure of how i'd be recieved as I am in auto sales and I thought potential customers might be put off by my new look. My sales as a bald man have exceeded those I had with my combover! I just love it because I spend alot of time outside showing cars and I don't have to worry about the horrible Wyoming wind destroying my hair anymore! This is a great site and shine on my fellow chrome-domers! ;D

Welcome Dan! Glad you ditched the combover once again and dicided to come hang out at Sly Bald Guys! I'm also glad the look has helped your cash flow as well.

Welcome to the group diseldan; you see I new it would not be long before you posted something. Also glad to hear that your Sly choice actually helped in your career, but I think that it probably has more to do with your inprooved confidence level and probably your personality too. ;D

Combovers - never a good idea. Welcome!

Yes I agree, please see Bald Mans Law!!

Welcome Dan! Glad you found SBG...

I think you'll find like in other post that being bald will help you stand out more and let your personality keep your customers. In the sales industry I would think a combover could be a really bad move cause it show you trying to cover something to give a false impression. :-\

welcome DAN. don't take this the wrong way but if i was dealing with buying a car from someone with the dreaded combover i would feel like i am talking to a shady character. some fly by nite used car salesmen give people that impression. SLY guys have nothing to hide, therefore they can be trusted more. just don't tell me you wear a vintage 70's polyester suit. j/k glad you enjoy the sly look. it suits you. enjoy our little (yet ever growing) corner of the world. looking forward to getting to know you. PAUL

Welcome Danmeister!!
Glad to have you here....
I'm with you and PBurke above....
There's folks in my line of work (financial consulting) that think since I don't have the strictly stuffed shirt, banker look my BBC look will hurt my business...
I don't think so...I have yet to take on new clients with my bald bean....but I am very encouraged by your and Paulie's perception about sales and baldness....I can't wait to don the three-piece suit with the new chrome dome.
Again, Welcome O0

Welcome, Dan! No offense, but everytime I see someone with a combover I want to show them the beauty of this site and the headblade. Glad you decided to join us here!

Thanks for the welcome fellas! Paul, you are right about the whole credibility thing, I think the shaved head has improved my customer relations. I don't have the typical car salesman slicked back hairdo, and I think people sense my sincerity better. I also don't do any polyester, but I do dress well! I think the display of confidence involved with sporting a naked dome puts people more at ease when they are faced with spending $60K on a new Cadillac. O0

Welcome Dan !!

O0 O0 O0 Welcome, Dan. I agree with Paul and the others hands down: a man who has the forthrightness to celebrate his gleaming bald dome would probably think it beneath himself to swindle the unweary in selling a car. Getting rid of my thinning hair (never got to the point of considering a combover and never considered plugs or a rug) has made me more self-honest, and that seems to trickle down into all my dealings with others--so shaving it all off is a double plus. Welcome to the site; there's no better informed and upbeat bald venue on the net. Professor Melon
