Title: Shower when??
Post by: GaryT on April 29, 2009, 11:32:24 AM
Is there anyone here that does't shave in the shower?? I've tried it but just prefer to be at the sink where nothing gets in my eyes, I can see clearly etc.

So the question is... IS there anyone else that shaves AND THEN showers!

I shave after I shower. I tried shaving in the shower once and it just didnt feel right.

The hot water from the shower softens up the skin for shaving. So, I never shave before showering.

I used to shave after the shower, but in the shower is much easier.

i shave in the shower because for me it easier.  No need for a mirror, that is what your fingers are for....for feeling.  Feel around for those spots you might have missed.d

I hardly ever shave at the sink.  it drips and runs down my back and so on.  Just do it in the shower and let it drip and do what ever it wasnts to do

Have fun

When I first started shaving my head I shaved then showered, never again. When the warm water would run against my head it would burn terribly, but also, I didn't really know what I was doing back then. Anyway I shave after I shower, it's been working well so I won't change it.

I've always shaved before I shower.  Have tried shavin in the shower, but don't like it much, as I tend to rush it.  However, when I shave I wash my head, exfoliate, apply foam, shave face, wash again, apply shave gel, and then shave head, so my scalp is well softened by the time I shave.  Even after all that prep, it only takes 10 to 12 mins. 8)

i hop in the shower to rinse and soften up the hairs, hop out and shave, then hop back in to wash off and finish showering

I agree with ya James. If I  shower first then shave I feel like I want to shower again to rinse off all the shaving goop and loose hairs etc.

What I do is wet my head. I do that by bending over the sink and using a cup to pour hot water all over my head, taking my time.

When I've soaked a few minutes I take a few drops of oil and rub them all over my head.

Next I apply HeadSlick to face and head. I let that set while I shave my face and to let the HeadSlick and oil soak into my head.

Then I get in the shower and feel around looking for any place that I missed. Shower, dry off, and then I feel nice and clean and shaved!
b*n!

Sounds like I am in the minority too.  I shave at the sink and then shower.  Before I shave, I rub hot water on my head.  I tried shaving in the shower, but did not like it.

why do you need a mirror for shaving?  I could understand using one for the face, but your noggin?  Do you not run your hand over your head anyways when you are shaving?  Its all in the feel bro's.  I think at slybald con 09 we need a trainig class lol

I don't dislike shaving in the shower.  I just feel better using the shower to clean up after shaving. I've also not found that the hot water helps anymore than just pouring it over my head before hand. I always did it that way and that's the way I'm gonna keep doing it! Us Mainahs don't like to change things, ya know??

I'm with ya on this GaryT....pretty much the same, shave at sink...wet face with warm water, apply shave secret, shave face....then the head, same as face, I only use Shave Secert...have not tried using other stuff along with...works for me....when I  shave neck and back of head, I only go with the grain...otherwise I break out badly, top and sides of head...I will shave in all directions in order to get the closest shave...then the shower

Guys,
I've converted!  After this post, I decided to try showering first and then shaving.  I gotta say that it was the best shave that I have had yet.  No nicks and the dome was silky smooth all day.  I didn't even get the 5 o'clock shadow that I usually get.  The shave was so close.

Thanks guys!

i think im going to try shaving in the shower. i shave after i shower but my the water and cream dries way too fast, i always have to add more water or cream.  im guessing shaving while in the shower would help that problem.

i shave my face and head in the shower with no mirror. it gets so messy, so its better for me to do it in the shower.

only problem is that the water gets cold near the end...  :XX

It's clearly an individual thing! There is one more reason I do it this way....If I shave in the shower there is a pretty good chance of running out of hot water or just plain running out of water!!  Ahhhh the woes of small town life!!
