I shaved my head and afterwords I was digging how i looked . But today in public I felt strange, a couple of people looked at me strange and my friends mother said I looked like a skin head :-\. Now looking at myself I wonder if I really look silly this way :(. Maybe my head shape is not right or I am not more rounder in the face and body to have the shaved head. I like the shaved head, but if I look dumb. :-\

Hey, Buddy... Doubts are normal.. We have all had them.. That is why the 30 day rule is so important. You need a chance to get used to the "new you". And others will need to get a chance to get used to the change. You look fine to me.. Just give yourself a chance.

Dude ... you look great to me. I wouldn't worry too much about others. Plus, remember this, you're probably a little self concious about your new look..... yet another reason to give it time.
I like to think that those people that I catch looking at me think I'm stunning! ;)
By the way.... the "lookers" are most usually female....always a good thing............

Its gotta mostly be your own self-conciousness because of your new look and you arent used to it yet. It must be, because I noticed the same thing when I was new to the SLY look, and felt everyone was lookin at me in a 'funny' way and sort of 'laughing' at me behind my back. :/O I felt it every time I went out, but now, nearly three years later, I actually sometimes look for people staring, and I never see anyone staring in that way. (though I sometimes catch an 'admiring' glance! ;))
That sort of proves it was mostly in my imagination, because many of the people that pass me nowadays are seeing me for the first time, just like those people that passed me by three years ago, and yet they no longer give me 'funny looks' 8)
Just stick with it and in time you'll feel the same. O0

A person with red hair on their head is a "redhead". You have skin on your head so, you're a "skinhead" (by the way, so are the rest of us). ;D
Given the fact you were digging how you looked initially speaks volumes. Don't let what others think cloud your judgement. >:(
Take the new look for an extended test drive and go from there.

Stick with it buddy.. before you know it you'll think you'll look funny WITH hair. Took a little while for my mom to get adjusted too, she said I looked like a criminal... I said well at least I know nobody will mess with me lol. Now shes telling me when its time to shave it haha

It looks good. Friends' parent's just make the obvious comment. It just takes about two weeks for people to get used to it. Keep it if you dig it! You won't regret it.

Like the Bro's said, don't worry about others. Maybe people were looking at you strange because you were looking at them for a reaction and just maybe you had a strange look on your face..... just a thought ::)
And your friends mom, unless you plan on "dating" her ( being nice which is really strange for me) who cares. She should not through that bias opinion at you if she really knows you. The way you carry yourself gives people their first impression, so if you dig it, show the confidence. Don't be cocky though, no one likes that as a first impression.

You look great to me. I guess due to the drastic change your friends mother is shocked. I've gotten my fair share of negative reactions, and still get one every now and then to this day, but I don't let it bother me anymore. If you like the way you look, you should keep it! Only us head shavers understand how it feels to be sly.

hey michigan_mayhem: U rock the chrome dome! don't let others opinions and comments bring doubts 2 your new look. after the 30 day trial, U will fully adjust & love your new look & those "negative" comments won't bother U. i'm sure some people don't like my sly dome but i don't care because i'm a SBG 4 life. there's no turning back. O0 keep us posted 2 your road as a SBG. O0

I say keep it. I am lucky because I only got a few negative comments. One of my brothers kept going on and on with it and I told him it was freeing and he was all "well I shaved my head once" then my formerly Sly brother joined in and told him that shaving with a razor is like nothing else. I have ran into people that dont like it and when I see them I just smile and rub my head, sometimes they give me dirty looks but who cares, its my head and I can do what I want with it.

Thank you to all . I do like it and not going to let anyone's opion change it . I have told people when they say " oh you shaved your head??" that I like it ! and that is all that matters to me . I am so glad I found this site and the support of the sly guy brotherhood. YOU GUYS ROCK!!

Not to beat a dead horse, but I'll throw in another 'don't give in.' You look good, and you're just experiencing all of the different feelings you get when you first shave -- most of it, I believe, is paranoia, especially when you begin to think that total strangers are looking at you funny. Most people don't give a second thought to bald dudes these days... unless you're wielding a knive like a crazy man, of course. :*))

Like the bros have said, keep the shaved dome for 30 days. It gives you, your family and friends all time to adjust.
You already say you like the look and the feel. You just need to start feeling comfortable. The 30 days gives you time to be bald at school, at work, at home, at play, wherever. It is also important to experience baldness wearing jeans and a t-shirt, a coat and tie, business casual. These are all different looks, different parts of our sense of self. Bald guys rock all of those looks and so will you.

Man, I'm right there with you on this one. I've had mixed comments, but I continue to go back to one thing. I like it. That is what matters.

Remember that your opinion is the only one that matters...you like it and I think is looks great....As the Brothers have said the way you carry yourself makes a huge difference.

I'll throw in my two cents and say that 30 day rule made all the difference. It works! I'm celebrating my one year sly anniversary this month. I haven't heard a negative comment in a long time, not even from my wife, who HATED the look at first. Stick with it bro.
